Indoor Percussion 2003
The 2003 Blackhawk HS Indoor Marching Percussion Line is performing music written by Danny Elfman in a show titled 'Music for a Darkened Theater.' This includes music from the movies 'Beetlejuice,' 'Nightmare Before Christmas,' and 'Edward Scissorhands.' The Percussion Line is directed by Robert Barthen. The instructors are Alan Fear, Brett Wygal, and Dave Campbell. The music and drill was written by Dave Campbell. (Latest Update on May 1, 2003)
The Blackhawk HS Indoor Marching Percussion competes in the Tournament of Bands (TOB) Chapter 8 circuit in the Scholastic Open classification. Recent awards and Honors: 2002 - Scholastic 'A' - 1st place at the Tournament of Bands, Chapter 8 Indoor Championships; Sto-Rox, Carrick, Thomas Jefferson, Slippery Rock University, Avonworth, and Brentwood shows2001 - Scholastic Open Percussion - 1st place at the Tournament of Bands, Chapter 8 Indoor Championships; 2nd Place at the Carrick show & 1st Place at the Brentwood, Clairton, and Avella shows; Scholastic A Percussion - 1st Place at the Elizabeth-Forward show 2000 - Scholastic Open Percussion - 1st place at the Tournament of Bands, Chapter 8 Indoor Championships; 2nd Place at the Carrick show & 1st Place at the Brentwood, Clairton, and Avella shows; Scholastic A Percussion - 1st Place at the Elizabeth-Forward show 1999 - Scholastic A Percussion - 2nd Place TOB Chapter 8 Championships 1998 - 1st Place-Scholastic A Percussion - TOB Chapter 8 Championships
