Marching Band

The 1998 Blackhawk High School Marching Band has selected music from the wars for its show.  Highlighted is music from the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, World War II, and the Vietnam conflict.  The band opens with a solo field drum and fife to "Johnny Comes Marching Home" and evolves into "Yankee Doodle" complete with "Grand Old Flag."  "Sing, Sing, Sing" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" provides the backdrop for our drumset quartet, "Andrew Brothers Trumpet Trio, and Visual Ensemble feature. "California Dreamin' " and "Spinning Wheel" mark the turmoil which accompanied the Vietnam era with the clash of harmonies and ideologies portrayed by the band before resolving into the high impact moment provided by "America the Beautiful," complete with our American flag.
