Father Time
Alter Ego: Larry Scott
First Appearence: 1941, Captain America #6
Biography: When his father is framed for a crime, young Larry sets
about
trying to prove his innocence. But he's literally seconds too late to
prevent the elder Scott's execution. Disconsolate and vowing to devote
his energies to stopping crime (rather than, say, opposing the death
penalty), he becomes the masked and hooded Father Time, taking an oath
to
make time work _against_ rather than _for_ the underworld.
Comment: The strip ran for just under a year, created by writer Joe
Simon and drawn by Al Avison and Al Gabriele, though most of the stories
were written by Stan Lee.
