Why is this element important in everyday life?
Boron has many different uses in our everyday life. Just a few of these would be, Boracic Acid, as a mild anticeptic, as a cleaning Flux in welding and as a water softener in washing powder or laundry detergent. Boron is also put into compounds such as productions of enamels, glass for the covering of steel in refrigerators, and washing machines, etc…

Who is Boron ?
Hi this is Luke Rawding and on the show with me tonight is one Mr. Butchy Boron. Mr. Boron is a member of the thirteenth column or group. Otherwise known as the Boron family. Mr. Boron has also been known as a long time member of the metalloid family.
So, Butchy why don't you start out by telling the viewers a little about yourself. " Okay, well I am not found free in nature, but I am found as an orthoboric acid in volcanic spring waters. I am also sometimes found as a borate in borax or even in coleminate. I am obtained by heating the trioxide with magnesium powder. The true down side to my existence is that I have little or no commercial value. The most important compound in which I take part in is Boracic Acid. Boracic Acid is widely used a mild antiseptic. I am also used as a cleansing flux in welding as well as a water softener in washing machine powders and detergents."
Well, Mr. Boron , the word around town is that you're one strong but incredibly delicate guy. Is this true? "I'm sort of ashamed to say it but, yes it's true. My diet is considered very neutral since I'm an important absorber of neutrons and all. My fibers can greatly increase the strength Mikey Metal as well as Alby Alloy. My abilities also allow me to aid in the productivity in copper.
Mr. Boron is a very elderly element his place in history may date back to as early as 6000 years ago, starting with the Babylonians. The Egyptians, Chinese,Tibetans and Arabians are reported to have used such materials. The Arabs even referred to him as "baurach" which has been found to be what is presently referred to as "borax" The actual true scientific discovery of Boron was not dated until the early nineteenth century, by Sir Humphry Davy, Gay-Lussac, and Thenard discovered it by reduction of boron trioxide with potassium and by electrolysis of moistened boric acid. Their product only figured to be 50% pure by the standards of today.
Mr. Boron, do you have anything to add? "Yes, just one important fact. I really did not become significant or worth anything at all until the twentieth century. That is when it was discovered that I could form many unusual and complex compounds.
Well that's all for tonight folks. So good bye and until next time I'm Luke Rawding with Butchy Boron signing off.
