WHO ARE RICH AND NIKKI?
Picture above was taken at Rich's brother's wedding, which is why we look dressy, it's the best picture I have of us though that I don't look awful in. Rich's hair color has since changed yet again.
I (Nikki) am 26 years old, married to Rich since June '99. There is nothing significant about me. I read a lot, I write when I am inspired, and currently spend my days raising a puppy. I'm a housewife because I can't find a single job I actually like. I was fired from a daycare job recently because I didn't want to work more days than I was hired for. I attempted to be a secretary for three hours and cried the entire time because the phone rang too much. I've also worked for a college library for the one semester I actually went away to college, but got thrown out for too low a GPA because I had more important things to do than go to class. I've worked at a Subway restaurant, a coffee shop (a terrible one that I wont mention because they are very big and I am very small, and no it's not Starbucks), Pictures with Santa, a discount department store, a video store, and most recently, as a clerk at a kick ass newstand for the best boss on Earth, but I left that job to move to Japan.
Actually, I didn't intend to move to Japan. I was only going for a month to visit Rich (he was stationed there in the Navy), before we were married. But we decided that I should stay and we got married over there. We were supposed to be married in May, but the day before our appointment at legal to tie the know, our car blew up, destroying all our paperwork and Rich's entire collection of CD's. He learned not to put every CD he owns in those magazines, and we both learned not to leave important papers in the car. It took a month to get new copies of everything. So we were married in June, got a nice apartment on base for free, and stayed there until March '01. He did his Navy stuff and I babysat, until the military took my job away because I wasn't licensed.
Although this is not even close to being the entire story of my life, it's the most recent important stuff so it will have to do.
RICH is my husband. Up until this past May he was a Navy Journalist. He has been stationed on the frigid island of Adak Alaska, the roasting hot island of Diego Garcia, and of course, Japan. Misawa Japan to be precise, which is all the way near the top of the main island, about 400 miles north of Tokyo. After getting out of the military because they wouldn't give us good orders, we moved back home where Rich got a job working at Eline, after two brief stints in menial work and a couple months working as a video editor for weddings and what not. He just quit working there because they are (in our opinion) psychotic, lying sacks of shit who have no clue how to run a company, screwed my husband left and right, caused him nothing but misery, bounced his pay checks, and basically made his life a living hell. He is now unemployed, but he'll find something soon, and having him away from that place is more important than paying our bills. He also did a punk internet radio show for a few months, but it was cancelled. He's a kick ass video editor, so if anyone works in the television industry and lives in the NY, NJ, PA area, email us. He can also edit copy. However, he did not edit this, so don't let my crappy grammar and typos be a reflection on him.
