Although I really really hope this wasn't the series finale of Dr.Quinn, it was a great way to say goodbye. Everyone is happy-except Preston. But he says something about how they haven't seen the last of him, and so we all feel less sorry. But wait-I'm getting ahead of myself. It all started when Colleen graduated from medical school...
At first, Jake and Teresa are outside the Gold Nugget. Hank is trying to get Jake to sell him his half of the Gold Nugget for $1000. Jake says it's worth more and that there wouldn't be a hotel if it weren't for the gold nugget his father left him. Jake ends up walking away. Then we go to Grace's Cafe, where everyone is celebrating the fact that Colleen has just graduated from College. Dorothy and Cloud Dancing walk up and she says she's going to write an article. After Matthew makes a toast, Colleen brings out the letter that says she's accepted into the medical school Michaela went to. Everyone is so happy-even Andrew. But as she reads on and finds out she has to leave in three weeks, Andrew's face becomes....well, let's just say less thrilled.
Jake sells his half of the Gold Nugget to Preston. Then Preston gets a letter, which upsets him greatly. We then see Michaela and Colleen walking and talking about medical school. She begins to realize that this school is far away from Colorado Springs, not like college in Denver. Michaela tries to convice her that it's a great place to go. Jake tells Hank about selling his half of the Gold Nugget. Then Cloud Dancing tries to sell Loren his blankets...not an easy task. Sully talks to Andrew about Colleen leaving. He gives him the gentle push that Andrew needs to propose to Colleen. He rides up to the house in search. (Now is it just me, or does Michaela have this sour look on her face the whole time?!) Michaela spies on Colleen and Andrew. Sully tells her to give them some privacy, and she replies by telling them that Andrew is holding Colleen's hands. Next thing we know, they're all looking out the window in this cute little concerned-family way. Colleen says, "Yes!" and her and Andrew head for the house. Everyone jumps away from the window and tries to look like they were doing something else.(Suddenly that flower pot becomes so interesting to Sully!) It's really cute and funny. They share their good news...and Michaela still has that sour look on her face. I mean, how obvious is it when everyone else is smiling and laughing, and Michaela has this frown. You can really see that she's a little unhappy about the news when she talks to Sully.
The next day, Andrew quits at the hotel. Preston's just like, I have enough problems, I don't care. Then Colleen promises to wear Michaela's dress, and asks her to be her bridesmaid. She accepts. Brian orders a silver frame, and Andrew asks Matthew to be his best man. Michaela has a little talk with Colleen. She tactfully tries to advise her to wait until she finishes school to marry Andrew. After talking with Andrew, they decide to postpone the wedding. No sooner is this done then Michaela changes her mind, and thinks they should get married. There is this wonderful and sweet little part where Colleen and Andrew are out infront of the house. They're talking and then they start to kiss. Here's where the really sweet part comes in. Colleen tries to tell Andrew that his horse is walking off, and he's like, what? Then she says nothing, and they go on kissing. It's just one of those parts you have to see.
So on the wedding day, Michaela and Colleen share a moment at Charolette's grave. We see a very nervous father....and then.... The music starts and Colleen walks down the asile. They both say I do, and then we go to the reception. The show ends when we find out several things: Robert E. and Grace are going to have a baby, Jake is going to build a house for Teresa, Loren bought the Gazette for Dorothy, and Loren also bought the silver frame for Brian to give to Colleen. It was a wonderful show with a wonderful ending, and I really hope we'll get to see everyone next year!
