ROCKY FIVE is deserves a lot more credit than it gets from most Rocky fans. It is a story of Rocky's life after retirement from the ring. This movie can bring a tear to the eye of a true Rocky fan.

"... theres a quest for answers and unquenchable thirst....."

Rocky Five starts where Four leaves off, he gets off the plane to the warm hug of his son that he has longed to see. Only minutes later however, he is already being challenged by another upcoming boxer. He announces his official retirement and he retires to his estate outside of Philadelphia.

Soon two terrible bits of information hit him all at once... Doctors inform him that he has brain damage and should no longer fight, and after a mistake made by Pauly he has lost nearly all of the money that he has worked so hard for. He cannot finish payments on his new house so he is forced to move back to the house where he lived in Rocky II.

Adrian picks up her job at the petshop once again bringing back memories of Rocky I. Rocky just can't handle living the way he used to after he had finally risen from the streets. Mick's gym is now just a dusty memory, but it was willed to Rocky's son.

When Rocky visits Mick's gym where he learned all that he knows about fighting it really was one of the most touching parts of all five movies. He sees himself 14 years earlier training with Mick for his first bout with Apollo Creed. He can see himself and Mick as if were just yesterday. He can hear Mick coaching him and the sound of his punches.

Rocky gets the gym going again and in no time Tommy Gunn (Tommy Morrison) shows his face for the first time. Later on he asks Rocky to be his manager and he accepts.

Rocky and Tommy train and Rocky sees his student win fight after fight, but he forgets his family and focuses on Tommy. Tommy is then seduced into money and greed by a money hungry agent named George Washington Duke, and drifts away from Rocky to the point where he is willing to fight him. After winning the title, he goes mad hearing of how he will never be as good as Rocky Balboa.

He challenges Rocky to a fight anywhere any time. After hitting Pauly in the lucky seven tavern, they end up fighting a bitter street brawl where Rocky eventually puts Tommy down. Rocky embraces Adrian and his son and the Rocky movies come to their close.
