This is a bouquet of herbs Lithuanians use most frequently in their cooking--Bay, Caraway, Cinnamon, Dill, Garlic, Parsley, Poppy and Vanilla--and which are essential in defining their cuisine. Unleavened Buckwheat Bread, Skaba Putra (Sour Milk and Barley Soup) always served with Sour Cream and Herring, and Avizine Kose (Oatmeal Porridge) traditionally served on Christmas Eve with Poppy Seed Milk are culinary treats typical of Lithuania.|
