But in case you were wondering, my full name is
Mary Margaret Lucia Ciccocioppo (that's pronounced "chee-ko-CHO-po").
And, currently I live just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
I love to teach, and if you haven't already guessed, I like to write. Right now my life is pretty busy, so that doesn't happen often.
I collected comics pretty heavily until 1993 when I left for college. I stayed far away from them at that point because I didn't have the money to support my habit.
I took a class in the Graphic Novel which introduced me to the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman a year and a half ago. Yes, I was REALLY out of it.
Irony of ironies, I became introduced to Poison Elves two weeks after I graduated with my BA in English lit. I immediately liked the characters, the art, and the storytelling, but most
of all, I was impressed by Drew Hayes' commitment and devotion to his creation. I realized that this fact alone made Poison Elves worth a million times more than the "assembly-line" comics I had read in
my greener youth.
Anyway. Live and learn. I want to write and publish my stories one day.
I really dig "Stream of Consciousness," and though I know it's not exactly a popular form of writing now, I have great ambitions that someday I shall make it so. Poison Elves is, for me, an example
of how the seemingly impossible can become possible if you're willing to hurt to get there.
The future is always the greatest unknown. Until then, I have Drew to thank for starting me in the right direction...
