Job's Daughters

I have been a member of Job's Daughters for 8 years, and it is a very important part of my life. The International Order of Job's Daughters has members all across the world. I was a member of Bethel #6 In Blairsville Pennsylvania, but due to low membership, i'm now a member of Bethel #5 Latrobe. In Job's Daughters, I have been given the chance to meet new and interesting people from across my state and visiting members.

Job's Daughters is an organization for young women between the ages of 11 and 20..They help you learn important skills for life, such as leadership, organization, teamwork and self reliance. They Also help out in the community

Throughout the year, we plan and share a lot of fun activities. Arts and crafts, photography, sewing, and creative writing are just a few of the activities we enjoy. Also ,we participate in sports including softball, volleyball, swimming and bowling, and we like to sing and dance, too! Many of our local groups have competitions with awards and recognition for outstanding achievement.

The Ritual was written from ideas presented by the Founder Mrs. Ethel T Wead Mick, and taken from the Book of Job with particular reference to the 42nd Chapter, 15th Verse:

"And in all the land were no women found so fair as the Daughters of Job; and their Father gave them inheritance among their brethren."

The HIKE Fund, Inc. (HIKE) which stands for Hearing-Impaired Kids Endowment, is the official philanthropic project of the International Order of Job's Daughters. Caring people have made it possible for HIKE to provide hearing devices for hearing-impaired kids from birth to 20 years of age. The HIKE Fund was founded in July of 1985 to strengthen voluntary support for hearing-impaired kids. Today this includes providing hearing aids and other types of hearing devices to help kids to hear at home, at school, at church and while playing sports. HIKE has helped kids in the Philippines, Australia, Canada in the United States of America. Children are eligible to receive grants providing the need is verified by a prescription from an audiologist or physician, and whose parents are financially unable to meet the special need.
