Named for the Sun God Lugh, this is the first of the three harvest festivals. Lammas is celebrated with all the grains and fruits that have been harvested laid out in a feast for the Mother Goddess.
The threshing of the grain was once a very sacred act. Precaution was taken to ensure none of the harvested grains were lost. The now household name 'threshhold' comes from wooden panels under the doors of grain houses so no loose grains could escape.
