Volunteers Through The Years, Courtesy of Patty Cicchino, Dan Buruschkin, and Bob Cook

The annual Memorial Day Parade in Hopwell features
a long hill at the end, and a stretch where the only
spectators are cows.

In the late Eighties the NJ State American Legion Commander
was from Lambertville so the Corps performed in concert
Friday night before the big parade.

A long standing tradition with the Volunteers was to
play in costume at the Lambertville halloween parade
The parade has since been discontinued, but we resumed
the tradition again in Frenchtown in 1999

We always seem to attract more than our fair share of
interesting fans. The guy in the overseas cap is typical.

When the Legion States Parade used to be held in
September, the corps would stay at Imperial 500 Motel
in Wildwood, and play a post parade concert at night.
One year we also decided to conduct our own parade, at
1am, only to be pulled over by the flashing lights
and sirens of the Wildwood Crest Police

the Volunteer with the most years of service, leads the
guard in a local parade

anniversary parade in 1981

The Corps is pictured in Yardley, Pa in 1977 after
a Memorial Day Parade. One member of the hornline is
still marching. Can you guess who?

The 1985 Volunteers were small but mighty, and won a
American Legion States Parade title that year.
