Hmmm.... straightedge...what is it? I feel that the basic principle is to abstain from consumption of poisonous substances. That can be drugs, alcohol, smoking, and even promiscuous sex.
I know that others have different views on what the sXe movement is all about but I think that there is no one absolute answer. It is different for everyone. For some it means being a vegitarian, for some it means not having sex even if you love the person. It is all about a CHOICE, a choice that each sXer makes for themselves. What that choice entails is different for everybody (within reason).
The sXe movement is not about who has the biggest sXe tattoo, just like being PUNK is not about who hates Green Day the most. It's all about YOU and not wanting to give in to the crowd when "everybodies doing it."
