Anyone who knows anything on supercars know the McLaren F1. The McLaren is the grandaddy of all sportscars, and the fastest production car to date. Although it was originally intened just for street use, the McLaren engineers couldn't resist getting a track record for this beast. Almost everything is made of carbon fibre on this car. The engine is a McLaren modified BMW engine. Like all race cars, the cabin is fairly spartan and doesn't have a/c, but it does have a special designed top of the line Kenwood stereo system specifically designed for this car. It has a unique 3 seat interior seating the driver in the middle, which doesn't seem all that wierd when you realize your head is in the middle of your body, not off to one side. The only bad thing about this automobile is its price. After thinning your bank account by about $950,000, only then can you drive off in one of these. The McLaren engineers have redesigned it this year, with a overall longer body, mostly due to the tail section, and a sleeker style to it. These redesigns are evident on the yellow-blue racing version picture.
Also available is the GTR version, which is built specifically for racing. It doesn't go as fast, topping out at about 222 mph, but it accelerates quicker, at about 2.9 seconds. The GTR achieves this by using a stronger engine, but due to air restrictors it cannot reach its full potential. It has a rear wing and a bare bones interior.
Yet another version is the LM, as in Le Mans. These cars were limited to only five versions to celebrate the cars five finishers in its first Le Mans race. All five LMs are finished in the old McLaren Orange pigment. They are almost exact copies of the GTR, but with a little more comfort. It features the GTR engine without air restrictors producing a monstrous 668 ponies.
