Corvette debuted in January of 1953 as a show car in GM`s Motorama. It was a stylish two seat convertible. All 1953 Corvettes were White with Red interiors. Production began that June in Flint, Michigan. The 1953 Corvettes were built by hand and were almost identical to the Motorama car. It was powered by the Chevrolet 235 cu in 6-cylinder engine that was modified with a three - carburetor design and dual exhaust to give it more sports car-like performance. It was nick-named the Blue Flame. The engine generated 150 horsepower, and it featured a 2 speed Power glide automatic transmission. It did not live up to it's expectations1961 was the first year for Corvette's now trademark quad tailights. This is a 1961 pro street corvette.

this is a 1971 corvette. this is a cool pic of the front. a 71 vette had a base price of 5,259$ and you could get in a convertible.it came in ten different colors. The base engine was a 270 hp,350 CI, or you could get a 330hp, a 365hp, or a 425hp and pay a little more. In 1971, a Special Purpose LS-6 "Big Block" V8 was available that produced 425 horsepower. But 1971 was the last year for "gross" horsepower ratings. The industry changed to a "net" rating system that accounted for the exhaust system, vehicle accessories and other components. It provided a truer measure of an engine's performance and is still used today.
