Ah, about those ads you now see at the top of these areas which you may be wondering about -- back in October ('99) Communications announced that all persons having web sites provided at no cost would be required to display ads. It used to be an option, but now all who have the free web space provided will be displaying ads. But after all, from their point of view, Angelfire provides the free space and the ads are a source of revenue.
This meant that each area you came to on the Range there would be an ad popping up as you travelled through the Range. So long as the ads are morally and ethically acceptable, I have no objection. However, I find them distracting since Circuit Rider's Range is not a hobby project nor merely an entertainment or general information site.
Circuit Rider's Range is social, political, and Christian issue oriented, some of which is highly controversial!
Furthermore, there is also the possibility that down the road there may be gambling ads, since gambling on line is being strongly promoted these days with big bucks involved. For a lot of people this is not objectionable. However, I am among those who oppose gambling on moral and ethical grounds.
And so the decision to move (like moving a giant house with over 40 rooms of furniture) was made. At our new location we will have 60 mb of space available for which I will pay a small monthly fee and there will be no ads. There is one exception in the Guest Book area and that is explained there.
I am grateful to Angelfire for the space I had to use and will maintain some of that space here for the time being for the benefit of those who still come in by way of the old address. And of course, you can check Angelfire Communications out by clicking on the ad to see what all is offered, including free web space up to 30 mbs! Maybe you will want to get started with your own web site and they will provide a lot of help to get you going
PS - If you see an ad appearing that is ethically and/or morally offensive to you, then convey your concern to Angelfire Communications! We who are members and are given the free web space have no control nor input concerning the type of ads being displayed. In order to express your concern just click on:
