Pups at Blue Hills Heelers
2005 Litter
Blue Hills Heelers, located in
Justus, Pennsylvania, offers "Blue Heeler" (Queensland Heeler / Australian Cattle Dog) pups. Our Heelers are registered with the National Stock Dog Registry and the Animal Research Foundation. We strive to breed healthy dogs with good conformation, even temperaments, and outstanding color, and we make every effort to assist prospective new owners to find the best pup suited to their expectations and lifestyles.
Blue Hills Heelers' 2005 litter was born on June 30, 2005. Their Dam was Blue
Hills Nellie. Their Sire was Blue Hills Tex. The pups of this litter of 6 included 1 male and 5 females. They are all sold. Please send us an e-mail at Blue-Heeler@worldnet.att.net or call 570-586-5430 to inquire about our breeding schedule.
Heeler pups are born pure white and begin to "color" at about three to four weeks of
age. Typically, the Blue Heeler "blue" body coat ranges from dark to light grey merle (black, grey, and white hairs mixed together) with tan or redish markings on the legs, chest, and sometimes on the face.
Note: All of Blue Hills Heelers' pups are "Blue." We do not breed for the "Red" coat color.
Pup A (SOLD) - A Female with a full mask. This pup is large-sized and has a sturdy build. At 1 week of age, she was a contented pup and not vocal when picked up and handled. At 7 weeks of age, she is secure in her "order" within the litter. She is a strong dog and one of the "leaders" within the litter. She is an independent pup and enjoys exploring her environment, but she is also affectionate when picked up or petted. She is beginning to understand the command "sit," and she looks into a person's eyes when spoken to.
Pup B (SOLD) - A Female with a partial half-mask over her right ear. This pup is the largest in the litter but not the stockiest. She has a long body and tall legs, with a medium bone structure. She is the "Queen of the Kennel" but is not an aggressive dog. She knows how to play gently and is often quite content to simply sit and observe the others pups playing. She enjoys playing with toys and carries them around. She is an extremely affectionate dog and seeks out human companionship. She enjoys being petted behind her ears, looks into a person's eyes when spoken to, and after she has a full tummy and is done playing, she is content to fall asleep in a person's lap.
Pup C (SOLD) - A Female with no mask. This pup is small-sized in the litter. She enjoys playing with Pup "D" (the other smaller sized pup in the litter) but she finds the larger dogs intimidating since they are so much larger and heavier than she is. She will follow them around but is wise enough to not tackle them. She is not an aggressive dog and prefers playing with toys. She enjoys human companionship and will follow a person anywhere. She also comes when called "puppy" and is often content to fall asleep in someone's lap. She will most likely form a strong bond with her owner.
Pup D (SOLD) - A Female with no mask. When born, this pup was the smallest in the litter. During the first two weeks of her life, the breeder spent many hours with this pup in the kennel, ensuring that she obtained enough milk for the best chance at healthy development. She has grown but is still a small-sized pup and will probably be a smaller sized dog. She is not timid when with the larger dogs, nor is she agressive, but her favorite playmate within the litter is Pup "C" (the other smaller-sized pup.) She is an energetic little dog. She very much enjoys playing with toys and likes to splash in water to cool off.
Pup E (SOLD) - A Full
Masked Female, (Mask covers almost entire face). This pup is medium-sized and has a full mask which covers the entire right side of her face and most of the left side, with a small amount of white at the top of her forehead. The photos above show her appearance at 10 days, 5 weeks, and 9 weeks of age. She has a sturdy body conformation. She is a bit of an "explorer," showing an independent nature. She is a high-energy dog and will chase after the other pups. She also enjoys playing with people, and she wants to give "kisses" (licking a person's face). This pup appears to be extremely intelligent, as when spoken to, she turns her head up and looks directly into a person's eyes, and she is beginning to understand the command, "sit." She is already partly house-trained.
Pup F (Not For Sale) - A Full Masked Male. This pup is medium-to-large sized in the litter and is a "twin" in appearance to Pup A. He is the only male in the litter. At times, he removes himself from the play with the other pups and just watches them. We aren't sure whether that is because he is the only male. He is intelligent but also strong-willed and is an "explorer." He is beginning to understand the commands "sit" and "no-no" but he sometimes expresses his displeasure by growling, but when picked up he becomes submissive, enjoys being petted, and becomes affectionate, giving puppy kisses (licking a person's face.) He is not for sale, but we included his photos so that the entire litter could be seen.
