Housing Your Hamster
If you are keeping one hamster or thousands you must give special thought to the cages that you will be using.
You can use home-made wooden cages, but you must remember that your hamster can gnaw through almost any tyoe of wood that you might choose to use. You can also use an aquarium or a cage made specificaly for hamsters that you can buy at any pet store. If you decide to buy an aquarium, you will need to buy a screen top that fits perfecly to it. You will need to get a water bottle and a food dish for your pet. If you like, you may also but some toys to put into the cage. Make sure they are specificaly made for hamsters. For bedding you can buy pine shavings. DO NOT bye cedar shavings because it can be harmful to your pet.
