My Riding History

The Begining..................................... ..................................To Now.

1994

I first started riding at the age of 9 in 4th grade. My bike was a green Mongoose Expert that I got for christmas. I got into riding because the "big" kids, Jeremy Foote, Jememy Roth, Mark Ormen, ect. all where into riding. So my parents got me a bike and I mastered wheelies right away to pull them down my whole street. My friend Matt, who was my best friend at the time, got a Powerlite P31 a few months later and we both jammed our mountain bikes into our sheds and never looked at them again. We would go back to the trails and usually just watch or we would jump the rollers or table tops, hey whe where only 9 y/o, and we loved it. Matt had mad skills but he didn't use them that much. He jumped the stuff that Jeremey and all them where jumping while I stood by and watched. Well we would also hold trick contests between Me, Matt, and Chris(another kid our age) for stuff like bunnyhops, wheelies, and any other tricks we could do. I usually did the best for Bunnyhops and wheelies but I always really sucked at jumping off curbs for distance. One day Chris's dad build a ramp for him and us that we thought was the shit but now that I think about it, it really sucked ass. It was moveable and was really steep, like a 70º angle on it. I took my first big fall on this bad boy that ended up with me busting the cages on my pedals and scraping my arms really bad. I lost my nerve to jump that thing for like a day or two but I started jumping it again.

1995

The year 5th grade started. One fine day Matt came to my house around 9:30am and we where going to go to the trails to see if we could get some jumping in before the other good riders came that mocked us. We where going past the pool and we always jumped the sidewalk and I jumped it and my foot slipped of my incredibly sharp pedals and left behind a trail of blood and ripped skin. I had to go home and go to the hospital to get 36 stiches in my left shin......my first riding injury bad enough to go to the hospital. I came home from the hospital with ACE bandage on my leg and went out riding. This was also the day Me, Chris, and Matt learned to bunnyhop. We cleared the smalled curb in our development and where all freaking out about it. Then Jeremy Roth and Mark Ormen came riding through and met up with us and we build a jump out of some wood and Jeremy and Mark where seeing how far they could jump. Mark cleared 2 parking spots and jermey cleared 1-1/2 [editors note: Jememy now kicks ass and is better than Mark, but Mark still kicks ass]. I went home all stooked that night telling my parents about what all happened that day. When my birthday came around everyone was skateboarding and I got a skateboard for my b-day and I quit biking for about 4-5 months to skate....as a matter of fact everyone quit biking for awhile to skate, but we all went back to our roots and started riding again. Ok now I quit skating and its august and we all all out riding Chris's ramp having a jump contest and Chris, being his normal stupid self, tried to beat Marks record of 2 parking spots and he hit the curb with his front tired and went flying ending up with a mild concusion, after that we voted that the ramp must die so I busted out a few hammers and we beat it to hell.

1996

The summer before 6th grade, a horrible thing happened, I cracked my green mongoose at the headtube and I was out a bike for like 3 weeks. I got a new frame from Mongoose that was chrome and I was back out riding. We started building up the trails since jeremy and all of them quit riding at the trails and where riding the Niedig trails. This is when I came over my fear of jumping, I think it was because we where riding with Calvin who was a really cool kid and he was older than us by a few years and he was pretty good. I just didn't say no to jumping a jump in front of him for some odd reason and I just got really good. We rode the trails for awhile until some assholes destroyed them and we didn't feel like fixing them since it was getting cold and the ground was getting really hard so we all decided to wait until spring to build the trails. I got grounded a lot in 6th grade for my grades and missed out on a lot of riding. I finally started trying in school te last 2 marking periods and got all A's and B's and just barely passed due to me getting bad grades in the begining.

1997

That begining of the summer we really only rode street because our trails got wrecked on a daily basis and we where getting tired of building them almost everyday. In the middle of the summer we started building behind Dandy Dogs and had some nice stuff going on for our skill level until Niedig got plowed over and Jeremy and Mark where back there one day when me and matt went back and they had made the jumps huge and really pissed us off. When school started we where all still riding behind Dandy Dogs and Matt and I could fianlly jump the jumps there. Then I quit riding and skated for the whole school year cause I was a stupid dumbass. So this was a short year.

1998

I skated like half of the summer but then I got tired of skating cause I had horrible balance so I busted my bike out of the shed and started riding again. I had really lost some skills since I wasn't riding and it took me a long time to be able to bunnyhop 3 skateboards stacked on there sides. I learned ground tailwhips that summer also. School started (8th grade) and I met Jason (Matt and Chris both moved in 7th grade) and Jared and a bunch of other riders. I got all of them into riding. Jason got a Dyno Air, Jared got a Haro, Joe got a GT Vertigo, and Dave got a Dyno Nitro and I was still on my mongoose. We all just mostly rode street and taked about biking all day in school. Jason and Dave where both in my homeroom. We learned a bunch of flatland tricks too but I really don't use them so I really don't neeed to talk about them. When Christmas came around Jason got a Schwinn Powermatic and Jared got a Freeagent Enforcer. We where all really into riding and some of us talking about getting new bikes. Joe wantd to get like 100 different bikes, a new one every week, and I wanted to get a 2-hip Pork. One fine day Jason rode to school one day and Jared always rode to school so we all went over to my house and I got my bike and we went to the Neidig trails that where being rebuilt after being dead for a few years. We wern't good enough to jump there so we watched for alittle bit and then went back to my house to play Playstation and we went through the woods and we noticed all the OLD OLD OLD jumps that didn't really look like jumps anymore and we decided to start building there but we didn't build that day cause Jason was being a little bitch. The next day Jared and I went back and started building and S&M Trailz got started. The trail history is in another section of my page so go read that.

1999

School let out and the trails where starting to get pretty good. It was pretty much only me and Jared riding back there. One day a bunch of people including Me and Jared where all riding back at the trails and some kid came back talking like a hick telling us to leave and his grandfather owned the land so we went bac deeper into the trails and talked there and then we went back and the kid was jumping our jumps and he just got all scared and said it was ok to jump, we would have stayed even if he told us to leave. The kid was a idiot, we all hated him. One day I cracked my frame and that was the end of my riding for awhile. I bough my frame and it sat. School started and I still didn't have my bike. I was so bored all day. I quit biking for awhile and I just rode my dirtbike alot. I got back into biking finally, the time is now. I ride to Live and Live to ride. Peace.
