Gina stood in the kitchen with her fellow co-workers talking. They had set everything up and got everything done eariler then expected. Mario, the cook, put his arm around Gina's waste while she was talking to Brittany. He started to bump his hip back on forth and soon Gina caught on and started doing it back. Soon he was spinning her and dipping her. Everyone started to laugh. They called them Jack and Karen from "Will & Grace" because sometimes they acted just like them. Mario placed a finger on her hip and made a sizzle sound. "Girl, you are hot." Gina smiled. "Oh, mamma knows." She said laughing.
Sarah came to the back clapping her hands. "Alright, enough messing around. People are starting to arrive so everyone get your trays ready." Gina and Brittany waled over to pick up trays with glasses filled with champagne on them. "So, who had the concert anyway?" Gina asked Brittany. "Johnny NoName." Gina nodded. "Yeah, I have no idea who that is." Brittany laughed. "Actually, that's not his real name. It's really AJ McLean from the Backstreet Boys. He has this whole alter ego thing he does. He is so sexy. Don't mind me I'm just a tennybopper at heart." Brittany continued to smile as she made her way through the kitchen holding the tray.
Gina felt like she was going to faint. This is AJ's party? She didn't know what to do. She knew one day she would see him again but she didn't want it to be today. Sarah walked over to her and placed her hand on her shoulder. "Okay hun. Make your way on out there. There are lots of people waiting to get drunk." She said with a laugh. When she noticed Gina's white face she stopped. "G, you okay?" "Sarah, this is AJ's party. AJ is Johnny NoName." Sarah's eyes widened. "Are you sure?" Gina nodded. "I can't go out there."
Sarah and Mario were the only people she ever told at work. "Gina, you have to. It's a big room and it's kinda dark. There are ways to dodge him." Gina sighed. "Okay, I can do this. He probably won't even remember me." Gina said, hoping that wasn't true. She peaked her head out the swinging door. She scanned the crowd looking for him. After a minute of searching she found him. He stood on the far left talking to a few people. He looked gorgeous. His hair was died red and it looked as though he had gotten a few more tattoo's from when she last saw him. Sarah walked behind Gina and whispered in her ear. "Nick's here as well. I just thought I should let you know, just incase you are dodging him too." Gina nodded. "Thanks Sarah." She then picked up her tray, took a deep breath and walked out to the party.
The party was almost over. Gina couldn't believe she went this whole time and didn't run into him once. Prabably because he stayed on the left side of the room for most of the time. Gina made sure she stayed on the right. Her tray became empty once again and she made her way back to the bar to fill up.
AJ stood across from Nick as they talked about the upcoming month. Nick had his arm wrapped around his girlfriend, Serena. The three of them basically hung out the whole night. AJ was listening to what Nick was saying when he glanced behind him for just a second. He never knew that small glance would change the rest of his life.
AJ grabbed Nick's arm to hold him up from falling over. "AJ, you okay?" AJ continued to look past Nick. She was beautiful. He had forgotten how much she took his breath away. He watched as she giggled with a fellow waitress. AJ's heart started to beat fast. Nick gave AJ a weird look. "What's up with you?" He asked. AJ finally spoke. "Nick, it's Gina. She's here."
Nick rolled his eyes. "Not this again. I thought you finally got over this." "Got over what?" Serena asked. "Gina is AJ's ex-girlfriend from like 2 years ago. AJ says he sees her places and it really isn't her. Man, when they broke up AJ was depressed for like ever. AJ, it isn't her." Nick said looking at AJ once again. AJ tore his gaze from Gina back to Nick. "Don't believe me? Look for yourself." AJ said as he spun Nick around. Nick's mouth opened wide. "Whoa, it really is her." AJ took a deep breath. "Well, I think I should go say 'hi'."
