~Chapter 6~

AJ slurpped the last few drops of his soda while he sat on the couch. Isabelle had fallen asleep in the car and Gina was upstairs putting her to bed. A few moments later she came down stairs. "Sorry about that. Car rides just knock her out." AJ nodded and smiled. "Its okay." Gina sat down next to him and took a few fries.

"Can I ask you something personal?" AJ asked. Gina placed a fry in her mouth and waited to answer after she swallowed. "Depends on the question." She said with a smile. AJ nodded. "Oh, I just wanted to know if Isabelle's father was around. Like, does he help you out and stuff?" AJ continued to stare at her as she sipped her soda. She put the cup back on the coffee table and turned her gaze to him. "No, he's not around. He, uh, he doesn't even know about her." She said as she looked down at her hands. AJ almost choked on his burger. "You never told him?" Gina nodded and sighed. "Yeah. Can we not talk about this?" "I'm sorry. I didn't mean t..." "It's okay." Gina interupted.

AJ shook his cup trying to get a few more drops from his soda. He put it back on the coffee table finally giving up. "So, what do you have planned for this week?" He asked Gina. "Busy. Between school and work I hardly have time for anything else. I save all that for the weekends. I'm working tomorrow too. I usually don't work on Sundays but I need the money." AJ nodded. Gina smiled and stretched her arm over to steal one of his fries. "Hey, get your own." He said trying to grab it back. Gina laughed. "I did have my own but now they're gone so I'm gonna eat yours, is that okay?" AJ shook his head and smiled. "No." He pinned her arms against the back of the couch and quickly grabbed it from her. "That's not fair, you're stonger than I am." Gina said. AJ smiled and shoved the fry in his mouth. "Baby, I just wanted one." Gina said smiling. AJ licked his lips, drawing attenion to his chin ring. "So, when ya get this?" She asked pointing to her chin. "Just a little bit ago, why don't like it?" Gina shook her head. "No, actually I do. I think its sorta sexy." "Really?" He asked, raising his eyebrows. "Uh huh, I like these too." She said pointing to his tattoos. "Really?" He said again, in a more raspy voice. Gina started to blush. She couldn't help it. He did things to her that made her feel flirty. She knew she shouldn't because she was leading him on and all she wanted right now was his friendship. But she couldn't help it, he was to damn sexy.

AJ started to move closer to her. She quikly said, "It's getting late." He stopped and started at her for few seconds then stood. "Yeah, I should get going." Gina stood with him and walked him to the door. "I'll call you friday." He said stopping at the door. Gina nodded. "Okay." Before opening the door AJ contemplating on kissing her. Before he knew it he was leaning forward and his lips met hers.

Gina felt her body go limp and started to kiss him back. She wanted to wrap her arms around him and hold on forever but something brought her back to reality and she pulled away. "AJ, I don't think this is a good idea." AJ nodded. "I know, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that." He paused and then said, "I guess, I'll call you friday." "Okay. I had fun today, by the way." AJ smiled and opened the door. "Yeah, me too."

Later that night Gina laid in bed trying to get to sleep. She rolled over and looked at the clock. 2am. She sighed and sat up in bed. 'There will be a day when I get a full nights sleep.' She thought. She flicked on her light and pulled a tiny shoe box out from under her bed. She sat on the bed and pulled the lid off. Inside were pictures of her and AJ and letters, notes and poems he used to write her. Something kept stopping her from throwing it out. They meant to much to her, even if they were something from the past.

She smiled at the pictures remembering how happy she felt back then. Being in his arms made her feel like she was on top of the world. She read some of the poems and notes and a few tears fell from her eyes. She suddenly felt guilty. Guilty for never telling him. She put the papers back in the box and slid it under the bed. She had to tell him this weekend. Thats all there was to it.
