AJ was in no mood to perform. He was tired and in pain, physically and mentally. He leaned up against a wall backstage and stared into space. He hadn't talked to Gina since they had the fight the night before. He just wanted to make up with her. He missed her so much. He also had an awful feeling in the pit of his stomach that something horrible would happen tonight.
He talked to Kevin about it earlier and he just told him that he was probably alittle more nervous then usual and that everything would be fine. AJ figured he was right but still couldn't shake the feeling.
Nick walked past him and patted his arm. "Come on, man. Time to get on stage. You pumped?" AJ sighed. "Not really, but I'll do my best." Nick moved closer to him. "You guys just had a fight. You'll make up soon and everything will go back to normal. I mean, you two are so perfect for each other. You have this connection that I've never seen before in two people." AJ sighed. "I know. I hope you're right." Nick nodded and smiled. AJ followed Nick as they made their way to the stage. He caught a glimpse of Gina rushing to the stage. He desperately wanted to walk over to her and kiss her, but he couldn't.
He hated the way things were right now. It was their last show and they were supposed to be celebrating together. Now, he wasn't even sure if she was still staying at his house with him after all of this. They had planned that she would move in with him after the tour. AJ sighed. He knew they needed to talk.
AJ started to feel alittle better when he was in his spot, ready to get on stage. He heard the crowd screaming and chanting. The excitement he felt so many times before started to rush through him. He knew this would be a good show. What he didn't know was that tonight he would find out something that would change the rest of his life.
The show went on without a hitch. The crowd was crazy and the guys were pumped, yet AJ still couldn't shake whatever feeling he was having. Soon, the guys were on the final song of the show. "Shape of my heart" started and the crowd sang along. Half way through the song AJ's feeling suddenly grew worse and he paniced when he heard the music suddenly stop. He looked over at Nick who stood next to him. "What the hell is going on?" Nick asked. AJ shurgged his shoulders as Nick turned around. AJ follwed Nick's confused gaze to the band located behind them.
He saw the guys in the band rush over to the left side of the stage, the keyboard side. AJ knew something was wrong and quickly ran over. He pushed past Brian to get to her. His heart stopped when he saw Gina laying on the ground. AJ kneeled down next to her. "I just looked up and saw her fall. I think she fainted." One of the other band members said.
AJ looked over her body and he suddenly paniced. His body started to shake when he realized that the steady movement of her stomach wasn't there. She isn't...oh my God, she isn't... He didn't know what to do. Just then Kevin walked up closer and AJ slowly looked up at him with tearful eyes. "Kev, she isn't breathing man."
