~Chapter 8~

It was the day before AJ had to leave and early in the morning he had called Gina and told her he wanted to spend the whole day with her. She planned for them to go scuba diving and then swim with dolphins. They were two things she always wanted to do since she moved there but never did.

AJ never saw her smile so much. The whole day she held tightly onto his hand and giggled at his silly jokes. AJ was upset he was leaving but couldn't help feeling happy just being around her. Gina never felt like this with anyone that she knew in such a small amount of time. She was truly happy. But they both knew he was leaving tomorrow and although neither said anything about it, it was on their minds all day.

Later that night AJ wanted to take her out somewhere nice but Gina didn't want too. She just wanted to hang out with him and be loud and just goof around. If they went somewhere fancy she knew they would have to act fancy and feel uncomfortable. Gina decided to take him to a sports bar a few blocks from her appartment.

They sat at a small table in the back. Smoke lingered around and laughter from numerous people filled the air. The waitress brought them their beers and put the chicken wings down on the table. AJ watched as Gina ate the chicken wings and then licked the juice right off her fingers. He smiled. Thats how they were meant to be eaten, sloppy. He was glad she wasn't worried about being all cute and girly infront of him. She drank down the last of her beer and put the glass back down on the table.

AJ sighed. "What's up?" Gina asked. "This damn smoke is getting to me. I need a cigarette." "You can cheat if ya want." AJ shrugged his shoulders. "I'd much rather just get out of here." Gina nodded and stood as he started to get up. "You wanna come back to my place?" She asked. AJ nodded. He put the money on the table and slipped his arm around her waste as they walked out of the bar.

AJ looked down at Gina and placed a sweet kiss on her lips. He rolled next to her and pulled her body close to his. They stayed silent for a few moments as they waited for their breathing and heart beats to go back to normal. Gina's head layed on AJ's shoulder. She ran a finger up and down his bare chest. "You leave in the morning." Gina said breaking the silence. Her voice was hardly above a whisper and was full of sadness.

Gina turned her head upwards so she could look at AJ. Her heart melted just looking into his deep brown eyes. He nodded. "I know." The same sadness took over his voice. Silence once again hung in the air. They both wanted to say how they felt but something was stopping them. "I'm glad we meet and became friends." Gina said. AJ's heart sunk. "Friends? Gina, you mean so much more to me then that. I hope it's the same for you."

Tears filled Gina's eyes. "You do, but calling you a friend somehow makes this easier. I just have this feeling that we'll promise each other so many things and we won't follow through." AJ ran his fingers through her hair. "One thing I can promise is that we will see each other again. I like you way to much to let you go. I know you feel the same way." Gina quickly sat up, pulling the covers with her. "Please don't say that." "But I do and you do too." AJ said sitting up with her. "I will call you every second if I have too." Gina sighed and leaned into his arms. "You promise?" AJ kissed her on the head. "Of course. This isn't over. It's only the beginning for us."
