~Chapter 9~

AJ walked into the studio where he and the rest of the group were going to go over their dance moves for the tour. He knew the next two days wouldn't be too bad since thet already knew the moves. The days that followed would be hell because they had to go through the whole show, costume changes and all.

Nick looked up from his postion on the floor as AJ walked in. AJ noticed him sitting by himself drinking coffee in the middle of the room. Brian and Howie stood in the corner talking with a few of the other dancers. Kevin was no where in sight. AJ felt a little releaved. Lately Kevin has been picking fights with AJ for no reason and he wasn't in the mood to put up with him today.

Nick stood and walked over to AJ who was now standing by the coffee machine. "What's up AJ? How was the Bahama's?" AJ nodded his head back and forth looking down at his mug as he poured some coffee in it. "It was good." Nick stood silently waiting for AJ to give more of a response. When AJ stayed silent Nick tryed pulling it out of him. "Just good? I haven't heard from you for a week, something must have been keeping you occupied." "No offense Nick, but did you ever think I went down there to get away from you and the rest of the guys?" Nick sighed. "Well then what went on? Meet anyone cool? Any chicks?" AJ bit his lip and tryed to keep from smiling.

After a moment he finally smiled. Nick knew his friend to well. "Who is she?" AJ took a sip of his coffee. "She's amazing man. I never met anyone like her." AJ told him. "How long did it take for you to get her into bed?" AJ rolled his eyes. "Stop trying to live vicariously trhough me. Just cause you have no sex life doesn't mean you can pry into mine." Nick smiled. "So there was sex going on. Will we meet this girl? What's her name?"

"Gina." AJ said after taking another sip of his coffee. "And she's more then just sex, Nick. Actually she is so much more then that. I think I'm in lo..." Before AJ could finish the statement Kevin barged in the room. "That's it. We're all screwed!" He yelled slamming the door shut. Everyone looked over at him. "Why?" Brian asked as he started to walk towards his cousin. "Dave the keyboardist quite. His wife is really sick and he wants to stay home with her." "What about Darrell? He can take over." Howie said. "No he can't. He does the back keys. He doesn't know Dave's parts. How are we gonna find someone who can learn all our songs in less then a week?" Everyone was silent for a moment. AJ stepped in the middle of the crowd. "I know someone."

Gina sat on her couch indian style as she flipped through the latest issue of Cosmo. She knew any moment AJ would be calling. He called her when he arrived home and he called her last night. They talk until 3am. She kept telling him he should go since he had early rehearsal but he couldn't bare to hang up. Gina was about to turn the page when the phone rang.

She quickly closed the magazine and picked up the phone. "Hello?" "Hey baby." "Hey, how did rehearsal go?" "Good. But listen, I got a small quesion for ya?" "Okay, shoot." Gina said. "How would you like to tour with the biggest group around?" "'N Sync are touring again?" Gina said with a sly smile on her face. She heard AJ sigh. "Not funny. Seriuosly Gina, you're our new keyboardist." Gina almost fainted. "Excuse me?" "Our keyboarist quite and we need someone who is great, which is you. And we need someone who can learn the songs in less then a week, which I know you can do. I mean, you'll have to audition infront of the rest of the guys and see if you can play with the band but that should be no sweat."

There was silence on Gina's end. AJ was hopeing it was a good silence. He wasn't asking cause he knew they were screwed because they had no keyboardist. He was asking because since the moment he got on the plane back home he was trying to think of how he was going to see her again. "Come on baby, this is your dream. You'd be playing for thousands of people almost every night. Plus, we'd get to be together."

Gina took a deep breath as she though it over. She had to admit this was something that only came once in a life time. People would kill to be in her position, not just because she'd get to play in the Backstreet Boys back-up band but because AJ McLean just told her he wants to be with her. She smiled. "Should I start packing now or wait until tomorrow?"
