Chapter 2
Gina picked up the telephone after the second ring. "Hello?" "Hey cutie! It's your Uncle John. How is everything?" Gina smiled. "Hey Uncle John. Everything is great. We finially finished unpacking." "How are the girls? Does it feel like home yet?" "They're good. Everything is just perfect here. It's great."
Gina was silent for a moment then remember what she wanted to say. "Oh yeah...thanks for telling me that AJ McLean lives next door. I almost had a heart attack the other day." "Oh I didn't know you were a fan of his." Gina sighed. "Uncle John you know I'm a fan of everything." Her uncle laughed. "That's true. Sorry about that. I must of left out the part about the famous pop star neighbor." He said laughing. "I didn't realize it was him until like an hour after I talked to him." Gina said. "Well, I guess you're not that big of a fan then, huh?" "Not a huge fan. I like their music but I'm not one of those tennyboppers." Gina said. "Okay, I see. Well, honey I gotta get going. If ya need anything just call me." Gina smiled. "Okay, I will. Bye." "Bye." Gina hung up the phone.
***THE NEXT DAY***
Danielle and Karen walked in the house with smiles on their faces. Gina walked down the steps to greet them. She saw what was in Danielle's arms and stopped. "Oh my God." She then ran down the steps and grabbed the white puppy from Danielle's arms. "It's so cute! Where did you find it?" "It's ours." Karen said. "We bought it." Gina looked at her. "Bought it? Why?" "Well," Danille explained, "we realized that tomorrow is Valentine's Day and we have no guys to spend it with so we thought buying a dog would cheer us up." "You don't mind, right? And your Uncle has no rule against it I hope?" Karen asked. Gina shook her head. "No, remember he has a dog. He brought it to Italy with him. And I think this was a awesome idea! She is so cute! Come on lets take her out back."
They followed Gina outside. They all sat on the ground and watched as the dog went up to each of them and sniffed them equally. "So what should we name her?" Karen asked. Danielle and Gina both shrugged their shoulders. Just then they heard a car pull up next door. Gina's heart stopped knowing AJ was home. Gina and AJ had a few small chats since they first met a few days ago. They had a lot in common and he always made her laugh. She didn't want to admit it but she had a crush on him. Karen smiled. "Hey Gina. Call him over. Me and Danielle haven't met him yet." Gina nodded and called out his name.
AJ heard someone call his name and he peeked his head around the back of the house and saw Gina sitting on the lawn next to her pool with 2 other girls. He smiled and waved. Gina waved her hand to signal to come back. AJ understood and started to walk towards them. The puppy barked at him. Danielle picked her up to calm her down. "Hi, you must be Danielle and Karen. I'm AJ." They smiled. "Hi AJ." Danielle smiled. Karen waved. "So, you got a puppy?" He asked Gina. "Yeah Karen and Danielle just got her today. We didin't even name her yet." AJ sat down and the dog walked over to him. AJ patted her head as she sniffed his leg. "Well, I can help. I'm good at that stuff." Gina laughed. "Yeah considering your dogs names are Jack Daniels and Vegas." Karen and Danielle laughed. AJ smiled. "Okay okay, but I have an idea. How about Valentine since tomorrow is Valentine's Day?"
Danielle smiled. "That's cute! I like that." Gina and Karen nodded in agreement. Danielle continued. "Valentine it is. Thanks AJ." AJ smiled. "Glad I could help. So, have you guys done anything exciting yet?" Gina shook her head. "Nah. We've only been here four days." "Yeah and me and Danielle's classes take up a lot of time." Karen added. "Well," AJ started, "I'm having a party tomorrow night. You guys are welcome to come over if ya want." The girls smiled. "Yeah maybe we will." Gina said. AJ stood up. "Great. I gotta get inside and feed the dogs. I'll see you ladies tomorrow night." The girls said good-bye and AJ turned and went inside his house.
As soon as he stepped inside his cell phone rang. AJ pulled it out of his pocket and answered it. "Hello?" "Hey, it's Brian." "Hey Bri." "Everything still on for tomorrow?" Brian asked. "Yup. And guess what? I just invited my neighbors." "Oh the three cute girls." "Yeah that Karen girl is perfect for you." AJ said. "Don't go setting me up with anyone." AJ laughed. "I know. I'm just saying." "What about you? Didn't you say you think that Gina is really cute?" AJ shrugged his shoulders. "Yeah, so? I told you I'm not diving back into another relationship for a while." Brian sighed. Nick walked in his living room and started to set up the Playstation game. "Alright. Well AJ, I gotta go. Nick challenged me to a basketball game on Playsation." AJ nodded as he poured the Alpo can into the dog dish. "Okay. I hope you kick his ass." Brian laughed. "You know I will. See ya." "Bye." AJ sat the phone down on the kitchen counter then placed the dish on the floor for Vegas.
