~~Chapter 4~~

  • Gina and Karen were in the living room dancing in the mix of other people. Debelah Morgan's "Dance with me" pumped through the stereo. Karen whispered in Gina's ear. "Oh my God, Brian is gorgeous." Gina smiled. "Here he comes." Karen looked over and saw Nick and Brian walking towards them. A smiled appeared on her face. "May we join you?" Brian asked. Karen nodded. "Of course." They each took turns doing silly moves and making fun of all the drunk people attempting to dance. Gina never laughed so hard in her life. They didn't even realize that two hours had passed by.
  • Howie, Kevin and Danielle sat in the kitchen. Danielle asked them various questions about what it was like to be on the road for half the year and being away from family and things like that. Howie looked at his watch. "Oh wow, I gotta go." Danielle gave Howie a perplexed look. "It's only 10." Howie got up from the table. "I know but I gotta stop over at my sisters and drop something off. If I come any later then 11 she flips." Danielle nodded. "Oh, well it was nice meeting you." Howie smiled. "Likewise, but I'm sure we will be seeing eachother a lot in the future. You girls seem to be having a impact on a few of us. I mean Kevin seems infatuated with you." Kevin blushed a little. But it was true. Danielle and Kevin had been flirting a lot. Howie waved. "Bye." Danielle smiled. "Bye Howie."
  • Once Howie left the kitchen Danielle got up and walked over to the counter to get a drink. Kevin got up and walked over next to her. "So, we've been talking all night but I haven't really gotten the basics from you. How long have you been living in Florida?" Danielle poured the pepsi into a cup and looked up at Kevin. "How long have you been wearing such tight pants?" A huge smile appeared on Kevin's face. "Ya know, if that was a pick-up line then we're a match made in heaven." "Really now?" Danielle said with a smile and walked back to the table.
  • Howie found AJ leaned over picking up broken glass near the steps. "What broke?" He asked. AJ looked up at him. "A picture frame." "Oh, I'd help ya but I gotta jet." AJ stood up straight. "Okay, D. Thanks for coming man." Howie smiled. "No problem." Howie turned and went out the door. AJ walked through the living room. He saw Nick and Gina dancing closely. Nick placed his hand lightly on her shoulder and whispered something in her ear. Gina giggled and nodded. AJ's stomach turned as he walked to the kitchen. He put the glass in the trash can and turned to go back in the lving room. He jumped when he saw Gina standing behind him. "Oh God. Don't do that to a person. You almost gave me a heat attack." "Sorry." Gina said. "I just wanted to invite you to come dance with us." AJ shook his head. "I can't I gotta clean up." "Clean up when everyone's gone. You need to have some fun." Gina said as she grabbed his hand and pulled him. "I don't need anything." AJ said as he pulled his hand away from her. "Okay? I'm perfectly happy cleaning shit up. Go back to grinding with Nick and leave me alone." AJ pushed past her and walked through the living room. Gina looked over at Kevin and Danielle who sat at the table. "Don't mind him," Kevin said. "He's just being an ass."
  • "Do you think you can show me where the bathroom is?" Karen asked Brian. They were now sitting on the couch making small talk. Brian nodded. "Sure. Follow me." They stood up but quickly lost eachother in the mix of everyone. Brian stopped until Karen caught up with him. "Hold my hand so we don't lose eachother again." Karen obeyed and followed him through the living room and up the stairs. The stopped infront of a door and Brian kncked to make sure no one was in there. "Okay, go ahead." Karen smiled. "Unless you wanna come in with me you're going to have to let go of my hand." Brian quickly let go and smiled. "Sorry. I was getting a little comforatable holding your hand." Karens heart skipped a beat.
  • Around 12 everyone had gone home besides Kevin, Nick, Brian and the girls. They sat in the kitchen and talked and giggled. The girls felt really comforatble around them. Gina heard AJ inthe other room moving some things. She got up and went to talk to him. He looked over at her when she walked in. "Hey." He said. Gina sat on the couch. "Hey. Thanks for inviting me and the girls. We had a lot of fun." He turned and faced her. "No problem." He paused for a minute then walked over and sat next to her. "Sorry about earlier. I've just been having a bad day." Gina nodded. "It's okay. Just for the record, there's nothing going on with me and Nick. We decided to be friends thats all." AJ shrugged his shoulders. "What do I have to do with that?" "Well, I just thought that, uh," Gina stopped herself. "Nevermind." She pointed to the glass ball on the coffee table. "This is beautiful." "I actually got that at a flea market. When I first moved in I need some stuff and I thought this would be perfect for in here." Gina studied it. "It looks like some type of crystal ball. My grandmother was a psychic. A real one too, not one of those fake ones on TV." Gina said. AJ smiled. "Thats cool." Gina nodded. "She taught me how to use some stuff. I'll have to check this out for ya sometime." "It's not gonna say that I'm gonna die right?" AJ said with a smile. Gina laughed. "I hope not."
