~~~Chapter 6~~~
**ON THE BEACH**
All the guys were messing around in the water. The girls were laying on there backs getting tans and having a friendly girl chat. "Gina, AJ is looking mighty fine don't ya think?" Danielle asked with a smile. Gina rolled her eyes. "Let it go. I don't like him like that." "Then why did you tell you mom on the phone that he is 'so nice and sweet and so much fun to be around.' That you 'just adore him'." Karen said mockingly. She continued. "You can't deny it." Gina sighed. "Okay, okay. I like him. Are you happy now? I think he is gorgeous. I want to kiss him and kiss him and kiss him." The girls laughed. Gina continued. "But it doesn't make a difference either way. He doesn't want a relationship, remember?" The girls looked up and saw Brian coming towards them with a huge smile on his face. He quickly picked Karen up. "What are you doing?" She asked. Brian smiled and started walking towards the water. "You were sitting there looking hot from the sun so I figured you needed to cool off." He then dropped her in the water. Karen stood up and put her hands on her hips. "You are so dead." She then dove at him and they started wrestling. Pretty soon everyone in the water was wrestling.
AJ decided he had enough and started to head back on the beach. Danielle saw him coming and decided to leave him alone with Gina. As she passed him he rubbed his hand on the top of her head. "Ha ha, I messed up your hair." He said, sounding like he was 5. "It doesn't matter, I'm going in the water anyway." Danielle said sticking her tounge out. They both laughed and Danielle turned and continued towards the water. AJ sat down on a towel next to Gina. She sat up and smiled. "Hey." "Hey, having fun?" Gina nodded. "Yeah this is great. Thank you so much for bringing us." AJ smiled. "It's no problem." "So, how did the reacording go?" Gina asked. "Really well." AJ said. "We finished the last two songs for the album so hopefully it will be out by June and then we can tour." "That's really cool." Gina said. AJ nodded. "Yeah, I can't wait for this album."
They were both silent for a moment as they watched the wrestling that was still going on in the water. "I have to admit," AJ said, "I kind of didn't want you girls to come down because I thought it would be cool to have it just us guys. But now I'm really glad you did come." Gina smiled. "I'm glad you decided to have us come." "I'm also glad that we are friends." Gina smiled even though her heart sank. She wanted to be more than that. She wanted him to like her as much as she liked him. But she smiled anyway and said, "Yeah me too."

Later that night Nick thought it would cool if they all went out and had fun. There was a place a few blocks away that had a huge dance floor and you could sit and order food. They all thought it was a great idea. Karen really wanted to go but wasn't feeling well. The girls said they'd stay with her but Brian insisted that they went and he'd stay with her. They all piled into the limo and headed to the restaurant. When everyone was gone Brian made Karen some tea. He brought it out to her. She was sitting on the couch watching "Runaway Bride". Brian sat next to her and handed her the tea. "You are such an angel Brian. You didn't have to stay home with me. You could have went but you didn't and now you made me tea. Are you sure you don't mind staying here?" Brian shook his head. "It's completly fine. Besides, I like hanging out with you." She smiled. "Okay, cause I feel bad." Brian kissed her head. "Don't, it's fine."
He turned his head and looked at the TV. "So, what are we watching here?" Karen took a sip of her tea and then placed it on the coffee table. "Runaway Bride. It's one of my favorite movies. I'm a sucker for romance." "I figured." Brian stated. "I mean, you're favorite book is 'The Notebook'." Karen smiled. She had mentioned that before and was suprised he remembered. Guy's never remember anything. They both grew silent. Brian placed his hand on hers and studied her face. She looked over at him and her eyes meet his. "Karen, what would you consider me as?" Brian asked. "What do you mean?" Karen knew exactally what he meant but she asked anyway. "Well, do you consider me a friend or..." He trailed off. "I definitely consider you more than a friend." Karen admitted. "Like a boyfriend?" He asked. Karen smiled. "Do you want to be my boyfriend?" Brian nodded. "I wanted to be with you the moment I layed my eyes on you." Karen leaned over and kissed him. "Me too." She said with a smile.

After the movie was over Brian looked over and saw that Karen had fallen asleep. He shut off the tape and lowered the TV. He found a pillow on the chair next to the couch and he picked it up and placed it under her head. She moved a little and Brian thought he had woken her up but she continued to sleep peacefully. He ran his fingers threw her hair a few times. He never saw anything as beautiful as she was. Brian's feelings for her frightened him a little. He never felt so strongly for anyone so fast. He even came to the conclusion that he was falling fast for her. What if that would scare her? Even worse...what if she didn't even feel remotely close about him then he does about her? Brian shook his thoughts away. 'One step at a time, Bri. One step at a time'.
