~~~Chapter 7~~~
***AT THE CLUB***
Nick and Howie sat at the bar talking to two blondes. AJ and Gina sat at a table making small talk. Kevin and Danielle were on the dance floor dancing to swing music. Neither didn't really know what they were doing but they still were having fun. Kevin grabbed Danielle's hand and spun her then pulled her close to him. They continued to dance around eachother, Kevin spinning Danielle occasionally.
"I wanted to ask you something." Kevin yelled over the music. Danielle grabbed his hands and they simply moved back and forth. "What's up?" She asked. "You're okay with this, right?" He asked as he pushed her out then pulled her back in. "With what?" She asked as she looked down to make sure she wasn't going to step on his feet. "With us. I mean I never really officially asked you out. I just figured you wanted to be my girlfriend and all." Danielle stopped dancing. Kevin got a little scared of what she was going to say. She moved close to him and rose up on her tippy-toes to kiss him. Then she once again grabbed his hands and started dancing. Kevin smiled. "I guess that mean yes." He asked. Danielle nodded and Kevin spun her.
AJ sat at the table staring at Danielle and Kevin dancing. It looked like a lot of fun. He looked over at Gina and grabbed her hand. "Come on, let's dance." He pulled her to the dance floor. "Ya know," Gina said with a smile, "you are supposed to ask a girl to dance, not command." AJ smiled. "Sorry about that. It just looked like we were missing out on something fun." He put his left hand in her right and placed his hand on her hip. The started to dip their bodies back and forth. Just as he was about to spin her the song ended.
"Oh damn it." AJ said annoyed. Gina smiled. "It's okay." A slow song came on and AJ let go of Gina's hand. She thought he was going to walk back to the table but instead he placed it around her waste and did the same with his other. "Well we mind as well slow dance since we're out here." Gina nodded and wrapped her arms around his neck. They started to sway to the music.
~"There's something in your eyes that makes me wanna lose myself, makes me wanna lose myself in you arms. There's something in your voice that makes my heart beat fast. Hope this feeling lasts the rest of my life."~
Gina looked up and saw Danielle and Kevin dancing. Danielle smiled and gave her a thumbs up. Gina smiled. AJ could feel his heart beat faster. hIs palms became sweaty. He leaned his head back and looked into Gina's eyes. He remembered the first time he made contact with the big brown eyes.
~"It feels like home to me. It feels like home to me. It feels like I'm all the way back were I come from."~
AJ leaned foward and his lips met Gina's. She couldn't believe this was happining. All she sould do was kiss him back. It started soft, but when the kiss started to get more deeper AJ pulled away. "I'm sorry," AJ said, "I didn't..." Gina interupted. "It's okay. I liked it." She smiled. "I've had these feelings for you for a long time." AJ let go of his grip around her waste and pulled away. "I can't do this." Gina was confused. "Can't do what?" AJ put his hands up. "I'm sorry. I have to go. Tell the guys I took a cab back to the house." AJ then turned and walked in the other direction towards the door.
Gina stood in the middle of the floor confused and embarressed. Danielle walked over to Gina. She placed her hand on her arm. "What happened?" Gina looked up at Danielle. "We kissed and then he got all weird and said he had to go." For some unknown reason Gina started to cry. Danielle put her arms around her and let her cry for a moment. Gina wipped her eyes and pulled away. "God, I'm such a dork." "No your not." Danielle said. "Come one let's get the guys and head back to the house."
The whole way home the guys were trying to cheer up Gina. Danielle had told them what had happened and they didn't understand why AJ was acting like this. When they entered the house Brian sat on the couch watching tv with Karen's head rst on his legs. He told them to be queit so they wouldn't wake her but it was too late. She sat up and looked at Brian. "How long have I been asleep?" "Only an hour. But then these buttheads came home and woke you up." Karen smiled. "It's okay. Did you guys have fun?" Everyone nodded and gave their shares of 'It was fun'. "Is AJ here?" Nick asked Brian. Brian nodded. "Yeah, he's in his room. He came home about 15 minutes ago. How come?" Nick looked over at Gina. She sighed. "Long story. I think I'm gonna go talk to him." She turned and walked up the steps.
Limp Bizkit's 'Rollin' was blasting out of his room. Gina knocked hard so he would hear. The stero turned off and she hear footsteps move towards the door. When he opened it, he stood there silently staring at her. "Can we talk?" She asked. He nodded and moved aside to let her in. Gina sat on the on eof the two beds. She figured it was Howie's because there was pictures of his family on the nightstand. AJ sat down on his bed looked at the ground. "I'm sorry about what happened tonight. I got caught up in the moment." ""Caught up?" Gina asked. "I thought that's what you wanted to happen. I thought that you felt the same way I feel about you, but I guess I was wrong."
"I do." AJ said. Gina sighed. "Then what's the problem?" AJ rubbed hia face. "Because I'm not looking for a relationship. I can't deal with one right now." "Why? What happened in your last relationship that hurt you so much?" "You really want to know?" AJ asked looking her dead in the eyes. Gina nodded. "Yes."
AJ took a depth breath and started.
"I was totally in love with this girl Amanda. I mean I would kill for her. We dated for two years and lived together for a year. I was ready to marry her and she was ready to marry me, or so I thought. We had to go over to Europe for 3 weeks to do some publicity and things like that last year. I hated being away from her for two seconds so I was excited when they told us we could go home a week early. I decided to suprise her and just go home. Well, when I got home I went up stairs and there she was in my bed with my best friend Chris. Turns out they were having an affair for 7 months. Of course I kicked her out and said I never wanted to see her again. And Chris, well, our 10 year friendship went down the drain. I never felt so alone in my life. I wnated to leave the group but the guys were with me and helped me out. It made me realize how much I love them."
AJ wipped the few tears that feel from his eyes. Gina got up and sat next to him. "AJ I'm sorry. I'm sorry for what she did to you. But I would never do that to you." AJ shook his head. "You just don't get it. I don't think I could stand getting hurt again." "But AJ..." Gina started. AJ interupted her. "I don't feel like talking anymore. Can you just leave." Gina stared at him for a moment then got up and left the room.
