  • ****CHAPTER 13****
  • **ELENA'S PERSPECTIVE**
  • I ran down stairs to greet the girls at the breakfast table. I ran over to Gina and gave her a huge hug. "Happy Birthday!" She smiled and hugged me back. "Thank you." I smiled at her. "So now you can legally drink." She giggled. I hugged her again. "Sorry I can't hang out with you girls, but I promised Brian I would fly into Lexington to meet his family. I wouldn't be leaving so early but he wants me to help him pack." She shook her head. "Oh, I don't care about that." I picked up my luggage and said goodbye to the rest of the girls. I put my things in the trunk and drove off. When I got to his house the door was unlocked. He told me before to just go right in if it is ever unlocked. I stepped inside but couldn't find him anywhere. I walked towards outback, guessing that maybe he was letting Tyke out or something. When I stepped outback I saw, to my suprise, him kissing a blonde woman. I stood there for second, trying to understand if it was real or not. A tear fell from my eye. They pulled apart and saw me. I ran through the house to my car, crying.
  • I drove around for about an hour, trying to think of a logical explaination. Soon, I found myself back at Brian's house. I slowly walked to the door. This time I knocked. He quickly opened the door. "Elena. Oh thank God you came back." He let me in. I looked around, guessing the woman had left. I turned to face him. "Who is she?" He sighed. "I'm sorry you had to see that." I continued to stare at him. "Who is she?" He lead me to the couch and we both sat down. "My ex-girlfriend. Her name is Beth." My expression on my face didn't change. "And you were kissing her because?" He sighed again. "She wants me back." I could feel myself ready to explode with tears, but I contained myself. "Do you want her back?" He shook his head. "No, well, I don't know. I really loved her and I still care about her, but I care about you too." I stood up. He stopped me. "Where are you going? Are you still gonna go to Kentucky with me?" I shook my head. "I'm not going anywhere with you now. When you know what you want, call me. I'm not gonna sit around here and wait to get my heart broken." I quickly walked out the door.
  • **BRIAN'S PERSPECTIVE**
  • What have I done? I totally screwed up everything? I looked at the clock. I still had a half hour before my plane flight. I layed down on the couch and closed my eyes. Just then the door bell rang. I ran over to open the door. AJ stood there. "Hey what's up with Elena? She just left here all pissy and stuff." I sighed and let him in. "Beth is in town and wants me back. Elena saw us kissing outback." He raised his eyebrow. "Say what?" I smacked my forehead. "I am the stupidest person in the history of the world." AJ sighed. "What are you gonna do?" I thought for a second. "I don't know. I mean I think I still love Beth." He gave me a crazy look. "What? Are you insane? That girl broke you heart in a million pieces. Remember, she cheated on you and ran away with the guy to L.A., hello? " I sighed again. "I know." He continued. "And do you remember how you felt? Well I am pretty sure that's how Elena is feeling right now." I felt horriable. I didn't want to talk about it anymore, so I changed the subject. "What did you come here for anyway?" He looked around the room. "Do you have any nice candles?" I got up and walked over to the cabnet in the corner. I took out four candels and gave them to him. "Here. I probably won't use them. What do you need them for?" He smiled. "It's Gina's birthday and I have a very special and romantic night planned." I smiled. "Ah yes. The big 2-1. So what do you have planned?" He reached around his back pocket and pulled out a little black box. He opened it to reveal a dimond ring. My mouth dropped open. "Your not?" His smiled grew much wider. "Oh yes I am." He put it back in his pocket. I sighed. "But you have only been dating for 5 months." He shrugged his shoulders. "So. I love her. Besides, it's not like were getting married today. I want to be engaged a while." He stood up. "Well, Rok, I gotta go and set everything up for my night of romance. She is hanging out with the girls all day and coming to my house at 7, so better get started." I stood up and gave him a hug. "Good luck man." He smiled and left.
  • **AJ'S PERSPECTIVE**
  • I went home and arranged the house the way I wanted it. My mom came over to help me with the major stuff. She had this wonderful idea of putting a walkway arched over the pool so we can sit and have a drink or two and talk. We put light blue lights around the edge of the pool so it could shine and look pretty. My mom planted some flowers and I told her I would work on the bedroom, she had no problem with that. She kindly volenteered to take the dogs for the night so they don't get in our way. When everything was finished she gave me a kiss and left. At 7:00 Gina arrived. I ran to open the door. She stood there smiling. She looked amazing. I let her in. I closed the door and turned to face her. I gave her a kiss. "Happy birthday." She smiled. "Thanks." I grabbed her hand. "Come on. Let's go out back." We stepped out back and she gasped. "Oh my, AJ, this is beutiful." We walked on the walkway and sat down. We hung our feet over the side, just barley touching the water. I handed her a glass and poured some champaigne into it. I smiled at her. "So, how is your day going so far?" She smiled widley. "Wonderful. Guess what? Fatima called me this morning and she asked if I wanted to be in the new Mandy Moore video, cause she is coerographing it. Of course I said yes, so rehearsal is wednesday." I gave her another smile. "Congrats. What about the other girls?" She took a sip of her champaigne. "She asked them too, but they said they wanted to rest for a while."
  • Every extra second that I sat there, my heart started to pound even hader. I was trying to find the perfect moment to pop the question. Then a silence came over us, so I decided to go for it. I slid closer to her. I ran my fingers through her brown hair. "You know I love you with all my heart right?" Her face became very serious. "Yes. I love you too." I took a deep breath and reached in my back pocket and pulled out the box. I slowly opened it infront of her. "Gina, would you be my wife?" Her mouth dropped open and her eyes started to tear. "Yes, yes, oh my God, of course." I slid the ring on her finger. I grabbed her face and kissed her passionatly.
