****CHAPTER 3****
***Kevin's House***
**Elena's Perspective**
We all walked into the living room. I sat
down on the sofa and Brian sat next to me. I
looked over at him. "I hope Gina is okay." He
smiled and looked at me with those deep blue
eyes. "She is with AJ so she will be okay. He
knows how to treat a lady." I smiled back at
him. He is so cute. Kevin came in with a
video in his hand. He popped it in the VCR
and walked over to the empty side of the sofa
that was next to me. I looked down on the
floor. Christina was sitting right to my
legs. Nick was sitting next to her. It looked
like he really likes her. For some reason
she doesn't see it. Howie was rocking back
and forth on the rocking chair. I giggled to
myself. He looked like a little kid doing
that. I wonder how Gina and AJ are doing.
***AJ's Car***
**Gina's Perspective**
AJ kept looking over at me. "What?" He
shook his head. "No, nothing. I am just
making sure you aren't gonna barf in my car."
I
smiled. "Don't worry I won't." He put up his
up
window because it started to get a little
chillie. "So," He asked "You have been
friends with the girls for a while, huh?"
"Yeah, but we are missing one. My best friend
Danille is back at Philly. She would have
come with us but she has a dance studio she
runs. I told her that there are other people
there
that could do it but she insisted on
staying." He kept his eyes on the road. "How
old is she?" "24, why?" He shurged his
shoulders. "No reason, I just like hearing
your voice." He leaned over and turned on the
radio. 'Blue Monday' from Orgy came on. "Yo,
this song is dope!" He cranked up the volume.
I put my hands to my ears. "AJ please, I have
a head ache." He turned it back down.
"Sorry."
We shortly arrived at the house. He
pulled in the driveway and parked. "Ya want
me to come in and keep ya company until the
girls get home?" I shook my head. "If ya
don't mind." We both got out of the car and
he came around my side and grabbed my hand.
"I don't mind at all." When we reached the
door I pulled out my keys and opened the
door. I led him in the dark house. When I got
to the table next to the sofa I clicked on
the lamp that sat upon it. I set the keys
down on the coffee table and sat down on the
sofa. AJ looked around the living room. Then
walked over to the entertainment system. He
scanned through the collection of CDs that
were next to the sterio. Of course
'Millennium' was on top. He lifted up. "Good
taste in music." I smiled. Underneith that
was `N Sync. He then lifted that up. "What
the hell is this?" I giggled. "That's
Laura's. No offense but she absolutly loves
them." He set it back down. "None taken. Ya
know, I could get her to meet them." I
slapped my hands on my legs. "Get out. How?"
He walked over to the sofa and at down next
to me. "Well at the VMA's. Were gonna be
there. Their gonna be there. I could bring
her over to them." "Oh my God, AJ, she would
die. Don't tell her. You gotta suprise her."
He nodded his head. Ha! Laura will have a
heart-attack. I picked up the remote.
"Let's see what's on the tube."
After a while we totally forgot the TV
was on. We were talking about everything.
From music to movies to sports and some
personal things that we never got around to
talk about when we would be on the phone. AJ
reached around to his back pocket and pulled
out a pack of Marbolo Lights. "You don't mind
do you?" "Oh, um..not in the house. Lets go
out back." I got up and led him to the
slidding glass door. We walked out. I turned
on the padio light and sat on the white
plastic padio chair. He lite up his cigarette
and started puffing away. "I am guessing that
you wanna quit." He nodded his head.
"Absolutly. I've tried before because it is
ruining my voice but it is so damn hard." I
smiled at him. "I'll help you quit if you
want. I
mean we will be together for the next 3 and a
half months so..." i trailed off. He flung
the cigarette on the ground and stomped on
it.
Our chairs were facing eachother. AJ
pulled his closer to mine. He leaned over and
held my hands. He looked right into my eyes.
"Can I kiss you?" I was totally shocked by
the question that I didn't think I heard him
right. "Excuse me?" He cleared his throught.
"Can I kiss you? I mean if it isn't
inappropriate or anything." I smiled. "No,
not at all. I mean it is not at all
inapprpriate. It is okay to kiss me, I
mean..." He put his finger to my lips.
"Shhh...your babaling." I giggled. "Sorry." I
looked into his gorgeous brown puppy dog
eyes. AJ leaned in and kissed me softly. It
lasted for a few moments but then the stupied
phone rang. We pulled away from eachother.
"Hold that thought." I got up and slid the
door open. I ran in the kitchen and picked up
the cordless phone that was sitting on the
counter. "Hello?" "Hey girl! How is Florida?"
It was a very familar voice. "Danielle! Hey!
Everything is great. The house is fantastic.
Orlando is fantastic. They guys are
fantastic." I heard her laugh on the other
end. "You met them all already?" "Yup, we
were
over Kevin's for a while but I didn't feel
well so AJ drove me home." "Oh, does that
mean you guys are there by yourselves? Oh
geeze Gina I am so sorry." I giggled. "Thats
alright. I'll call ya tomarrow, K?" "Alright
sweetie, bye."
We both hung up. I walked into the living
room and saw AJ sitting on the sofa. "That
was my friend Danielle." He smiled. "Ah yes,
the one you mentioned in the car." I walked
over and sat down next to him. "So, you wanna
do something tomarrow?" He nodded his head.
"Sure, wanna go to the mall. I haven't gone
shopping in a while. I LOVE to shop." I
started cracking up. "What is so funny?" "No.
nothing, just the way you said it." Just then
the front door swung open and Elena, Laura
and Christina stepped in.
"Hey guys, how was the ride home?"
Christina hung her purse up and walked over
to the edge of the sofa. "Good. Did we
interupt anything?" AJ stood up. "No, I was
just getting ready to leave being me and Gina
have a long shopping day ahead of us." I
stood up and followed him to the front door.
We stepped outside and I closed the door
behind me so we could have some privacy. I
turned to him and I stuck my hands in my back
jean pockets. "Well boy, thanx for keeping
company." He leaned over and gave me a quick
kiss on my lips. "No problem. I'll pick ya up
at 11:00 tomarrow. We can go get a little
brunch and then go shopping." I flashed a
smile. "Alrighty then, I'll see ya at 11:00."
He
gave me one last quick kiss, then he turned
and started walking to his car. I waved as he
pulled away then I stepped in the house. The
girls were watching TV. Elena turned her head
to look at me. "So, whats with you two?" I
shurged my shoulders. "Nothing were just
friends." Laura started to laugh. "Sure and
friends kiss eachother right?"
"You were spying on me!" I ran over and
jumped on Laura. "Ow, your hurting me!" She
said between giggles. "I only hurt people I
love." Elena pulled me off of her. "Alright
girls, you might break something." She turned
towards the steps. "I am going to bed because
Brian invited me to play some B-ball with him
tomarrow and I am gonna need my rest to kick
his butt." She giggled as she walked up the
steps. Eventually the rest of us did the
same.
