Danielle ran down the steps and hugged the first person she saw, which was Nick. He almost flew back but he caught his balance. He laughed and squizzed her tight. The guys ran over and all started hugging her. They all exchanged their shares of "I missed you's" and "I'm so glad your back". When they were finished she stopped and stared at the men who stood infront of her. "If my memory serves me right, I know I've been away for a while, but isn't there usually five of you Backstreet guys?" Danielle asked. AJ, who was now sitting on the steps next to Gina, answered. "Oh, Brian went to pick up Leighanne. He'll be here in about a half hour."
They all moved out into the kitchen and sat down at the table. "So, tell us everything that has been going on and don't you dare leave out any details." Danielle smiled and told them of all the events she could think of. She told them about the cool friends she made and some of the fun parties she went to. Then she turned over the story telling to the guys and asked them what things have been like for them. As they discussed touring and fans, Danielle's mind kept drifting back to Brian. She knew she was excited to see him but for some reason she was feeling nervous.
Nick started to say something about their plans for the next album but Danielle heard the front door swing open and she spun around in her seat. A few moments later Brian appeared in the doorway of the kitchen. Danielle stood and ran over to him. Brian hugged her tightly and started kissing her on the top of her head. Brian smiled and yelled, "I love this lady!" Danielle laughed and hugged him again. "I missed you so much Bri." Brian was about to say something but he felt a hand on his shoulder and he spun around. "Oh, where are my manners? Danielle, this is my fiancee Leighanne." Leighanne smiled and put out her hand. "It's nice to finally meet you. The guys are constantly talking about you." Danielle smiled and shook her hand. "Well come join us at the table. We're just talking about whats been going on with all our lives." Danielle said, taking her seat next to AJ as Brian and Leighanne sat down in the two empty chairs.
AJ put his arm around Danielle. "I missed having a little sister type around." Danielle gave him a cocky look and punched him softly in the stomach. "I'm older then you, dork." "Only by three months." AJ stated. Danielle smiled. "Well it's still something." Brian pointed his finger at AJ. "Don't be dissing my Ducky, AJ." A huge smile appeard on Danielle's face. "No one has called me that in so long." "It's because you've been gone for so long. If anyone out side of this house ever called you that we would have to beat them up. That's our nickname for you, no one else." Howie said smiling. "Ducky?" Leighanne asked. "Yeah," Brian said turning to Leighanne, "anyone who is anyone knows that Danielle loves ducks." "Plus, I love Ducky from 'Pretty in Pink'." Danielle added.
"Speaking of movies," Gina interupted, "we should rent a movie and order a pizza like we used to." "Rent?" AJ asked, "Are you crazy G? We can watch a movie in the DVD room." Gina shrugged her shoulders. "Whatever. As long as we order pizza, I'm starving." Everyone agreed and started making their way up to the DVD room as AJ ordered pizza. They all took seats in the mini-theater. Howie, Nick and Kevin sat towards the front. Leighanne and Brian sat towards the middle. Brian wrapped his arm around her and she snuggled close to his body. AJ put on 'The Wedding Singer' and then took his seat in the back next to Gina and Danielle. It wasn't five minutes into the movie when Leighanne and Brian started making out. It made Danielle's stomach turn. "Why is it bothering me so much? It's just Brian. He is doing a normal thing. People kiss their fiancee's all the time." Danielle said to herself as she looked down at her hands.
Danielle sat there a few minutes then quickly stood up and left. She stood out in the hallway. A few moments later Gina joined her out there. "What's wrong?" Danielle grabbed Gina's hands and pulled her close. "I think I'm in love with Brian." Gina was silent. Then AJ stepped out in the hallway and staired at the girls. "What's going on?" He asked. Before Danielle could make up an excuse Gina quickly blurted out, "Danielle thinks she's in love with Brian." Danielle smacked Gina on the arm. "Why did you tell him?" Gina rubbed her arm. "Sorry, I didn't know it was supposed to be a secret." Danielle sighed. "Well what should I do?" The bathroom door swung open and Nick appeared. "Tell him. It's obvious he feels the same way." Danielle put her head in her hands. "Is there anyone else hiding somewhere that I should know about?" Nick shook his head. "No. It's not my fault I had to pee." "Look," AJ started, "we all kind of knew anyway. You always acted like you liked him when we were younger. I just thought it was a crush. But when you saw him today I knew there was something there." Danielle shook her head. "There's nothing I can do now. I can't tell him, he's getting married in two months." Gina smiled. "Okay, so we have two months to make him realize he loves you, too."
