~Chapter 7~

Danielle stepped in the house and closed the door behind her. As she took of her coat and hung it up she was startled by AJ yelling up stairs. "You're 23 years old, you have to start making your own damn decisions!" Danielle then heard Gina yell something back but couldn't quit make it out. A few moments later an upstairs door swung open. Danielle looked up and saw Gina run down the steps. "Ya know what, screw you AJ. I don't feel like dealing with you right now." She grabbed her purse and ran out the door. Danielle looked up at the top of the steps and saw AJ standing there. He quikly turned and went back in his room. Danielle looked out the window to see Gina's silver Beetle drive off.

Danielle walked up the steps and tapped on AJ's door. She heard him sliently say, "Come in." Danielle opened the door and stepped in. She saw AJ sitting at the edge of the bed with his head in his hands. She walked over and sat down next to him. "Do you want to talk about it?" AJ looked up at her. His eyes were full of tears and his face was red. "We've never fought like that before. It's usually over something like how long to leave the hot dogs on the grill and then we make up. We have never said such harsh things to eachother." Danielle placed her hand on his back and moved it in a circular motion. He used to love it when he was younger and she knew it would calm him down a bit. "What did you fight about?" She asked. AJ sighed. "I started talking about our future together and she got all weird and kept changing the subject. When I asked why she was doing that she flipped. Then it all came out. She said that her parents are totally against our relationship and wants her to break up with me. All this time I thought I had a good relationship with her parents."

"Why are they against it?" Danielle asked as she continued to rub his back. "They hate that me and Gina are always away from eachtohther. She takes it pretty hard sometimes. When I'm away she'll call her mom up and cry or she'll call me on my cell and tell me she can't deal with it anymore. I hate putting her through this and it's just going to get harder since she's about to get in this same business." AJ looked over at the clock and quickly stood up. "Oh my God, it's already 3 o'clock. We were supposed to bring you over to your apartment today so you can settle in." Danielle shook her head. "It's okay. Brian called me earlier and told me he wanted to bring me over since he still hasn't seen it yet." Just then the door bell rang. "That's him." Danielle stated. She kissed AJ on the cheek. "Thank you for letting me stay here. Tell Gina I said thanks. Call me tomorrow to let me know if everything is okay. It will be okay, right?" AJ nodded. "Once when we got in a fight she drove off to think for a little, she should be home in about an hour." Danielle smiled. "I hope."

Danielle went to turn to leave but AJ grabbed her hand. "Danielle, tell Brian tonight." Danielle looked at him funny. "What?" "Tell Brian tonight." AJ repeated. Danielle shook her head. "I can't. It's to late. He's getting married in two weeks." "So, what? You have to tell him or you'll regret it." Danielle sighed. "I'll try." AJ smiled. "Good luck." Danielle hugged. "Okay, gotta go." She kissed him once again and was out the door.

Danielle sat down next to Brian on the couch. Brian smiled. "This place is really nice. It has two bedrooms?" Danielle nodded. "Yeah. Did you see the bathroom?" Brian shook his head and got up and walked over to the bathroom. He peaked his head in. "Wow, very nice." He walked back over to the couch and sat down. Then suddnely became quiet. Danielle's heart was beating so fast and loud she was afraid Brian could hear it.

Danielle turned her body towards Brian. "I have to tell you something that I've needed to tell you for a long time and I'm not really sure how you might take it." Brian sat queitly and waited for her to continue. Danielle took a deep breath. "I've loved you since the moment I layed my eyes on you." It was out in the open now. There was nothing she could do. Brian was silent. Danielle was afraid of what he would say but wanted him to say something because the silence was killing her. Brian stood up and walked over to the fireplace, his back facing her. Danielle was now shaking. She felt like she was going to faint.

Brian then turned around and looked at her. "You can't just do that to someone." "Excuse me?" Danielle asked stunned. "You can't just tell someone you've loved them for 8 years when it's two weeks before they are supposed to get married." "I'm sorry." Danielle said. "I just had to tell you because I would have regretted it for the rest of my life." Brian turned towards the door to leave. "That's typical. Whenever something happens that's to much for you, you bail." Danielle said angrily. "What do you want me to say? Huh? Look, I'm sorry Danielle, I love Leighanne and I'm going to marry her." Brian turned once again. The slamming of the door caused Danielle to fall to the couch and start to cry.
