~Chapter 8~
AJ sat on the lowest step staring at the door waiting for Gina to arrive back home. She now has been gone for three hours and he was getting worried. Around 6:30 he heard her car pull into the drive way. She stepped into the house and hung up her purse. She turned and jumped when she saw AJ sitting on the step. "You scared me. What are you doing sitting in the dark?" "Waiting for you." AJ said matter of factly. "I'm sorry I left for so long." Gina said looking down at her feet. "I just needed to do a lot of thinking. I went to my parents."
Gina walked over and sat down next to him. "What did they say?" AJ asked. "They kept trying to convince me that this relationship isn't going to work. At first I believed them and was ready to come over here and just end this but I just love you to damn much." AJ grabbed her hand. "This is going to work. We can make this work. We've lasted this long." Gina smiled. "I know, that's why I told them that I didn't care what they thought and I left. I'm sorry for everything I said." AJ got up and stood infront of Gina. "I'm sorry too. I hate fighting with more than anything. I've thought a lot when you were gone and I came to one conclusion." He pulled something out his pocket. "What are you doing?" Gina gave him a funny look but felt like she was going to faint when she saw him get down on one knee. AJ opened the block box and held it infront of Gina. "Marry me?" Gina almost feel over and died. "Yes!" She shouted. AJ placed the ring on her finger. He then wrapped his arms around her and kissed her.
Danielle sat on her couch in silence for almost an hour. She regretted ever telling Brian how she felt. She decided she couldn't go to his wedding. It would be to hard for her. She was about to get up and get a shower to calm herself down when the door bell rang. She figured it was the landlord welcoming her into the building. She opened the door and was suprised by who it was. "Brian, what are you doi...?" Before she could even finish the sentnce Brian grabbed her face and kissed her passionatly. When he pulled away Danielle felt her knees go weak and almost feel over. "What was that for?" "I thought everything in my life was perfect. I thought I had the perfect relationship and that I was marring the perfect girl. I never had a doubt in my mind about this marriage until you came back into my life." Danielle stood silent and was taking in everything he was saying. Brian continued. "I lied earlier. I mean I do love Leighanne but that isn't enough for me. There is something missing. It's you. You're missing. I don't want her, I want you. I want to spend my life with you." Danielle smiled and was about to say something but Brian placed a finger over her lips. "Let me finish. I love everything about you, Danielle. I love the way the front pieces of your hair fall in your face and the way you quickly brush them behind your ears when they annoy you. I love the way you laugh at my stupid jokes. I love that when you smile you can light a fire in me that was never lit before. I get so excited when I know I'm going to see you and when I'm with you my heart beats so fast that I feel like it is going to explode out of my chest." Brian stopped for a moment and wiped a stray tear that feel from Danielle's eye. "I love you and I just thought that you should know." Danielle couldn't hold back her tears any longer. Through sobs she said, "You have no idea how long I've wanted to hear you say that." Brian pulled her in for another kiss. "I wish I could have realized this a long time ago. But I know now that I want to be with you the rest of my life." Danielle smiled with her eyes full of tears. "I love you so much."
