~Chapter 6~

Danielle's eyes slowly closed as Brian's kisses moved from her lips to her neck. Her nails ran up and down his back as she started to leave small kisses on his shoulder. Voices in her mind kept telling her to stop, that this is wrong. But if it is so wrong then why does it feel so right?

Danielle felt Brian's hand move from her waste and brush slightly against her skin towards her shoulder. His hand started to move her bra strap down. Finally, the voices won. Danielle quickly pushed him off her, snapping back into reality. Brian fell to the otherside of the bed as Danielle stood up and frantically started to put her pajamas back on. "What's wrong?" Brian asked baffled as he sat on the bed. "We can't do this, Brian. It's wrong. We've been drinking and it would be stupid. Besides, I have a boyfriend who I love. I just can't do this."

Brian's head was spinning. He didn't know if it was the alcohol or the fact that reality was setting in. Danielle stood in the middle of her bedroom and sighed. "I'm sorry. You can still stay here tonight. Please don't hate me for doing this." Brian shook his head. "I don't hate you. You're right. This was stupid of us. I'm sorry about this." He sighed as he got off the bed. He knew that it was stupid, but his fellings for her wouldn't change. "I'll see ya in the morning." He said as he walked out of the bedroom and into the living room.

When her bedroom door closed, Danielle sat down on the edge of her bed. She could still feel his touch on her. It was so soft and smooth. Nothing like she had ever felt before. His scent lingured in the air and she inhaled deeper to keep that memory. She regretted putting a stop to it, but she knew in the morning she would be thankful. At least, she hoped.

Was it a dream or did that really happen? Brian rolled over on the couch and looked around. He was in her appartment, he knew that. But did they really almost do what he was thinking they did? He sat up a little and rubbed his face. His mouth was dry and his head was pounding. Memeories flashed back into his mind from the previous night. He could smell her hair and feel her touch. He remembered kissing her and looking deep into her eyes. It couldn't of been a dream. That all really happened.

He could hear her brushing her teeth in the bathroom. Brian got up off the couch and started to stretch his arms. A yawn escaped his mouth. He then put his shirt on and slipped his pants over his boxers. He pulled the blanket off the couch and started to fold it. He heard the bathroom door open behind him. He continued to look down at the blanket as he heard her footsteps approuching him.

Brian finally turned to face her when he felt her right behind him. He smiled slightly at her as he put the folded blanket on the coffee table. Danielle sat down on the couch and Brian quickly did the same. Tension hung in the air. Danielle finally broke the uncomfortable silence. "I hope last night didn't ruin anything between us." She said, looking him in the eyes. "I still want to be your friend. I've missed you so much and I was hoping for the month that you're here we could hang out. I mean, only if you want to." She told him.

Brian nodded his head and smiled. "Yeah, I'd like that a lot." "Really?" Danielle asked, smiling slightly. Brian nodded again. "Yeah. I'm still your friend. Just because last night we almost..." He trailed off. "Well, what I mean is I do want to hang out with you." Danielle's smile grew wider. "Okay, good." "We could do something today." Brian said. Danielle bit her lip. "I'm sorry, I can't. I have plans with Richard." "Richard?" Brian asked. Danielle quickly regretted saying his name. "Yeah, uh, that's my boyfriend." She told him, looking down at her hands. Brian nodded. He knew thats who it was but for some reason he asked anyway. "Oh, okay. Tomorrow then?" Danielle returned her gaze back into his eyes. "Yeah, thats fine."

Brian nodded and stood and Danielle walked him to the door. As he opened it as he turned and smiled. "I'll call you tomorrow." He said. Danielle nodded and watched him as he walk down the hallway of her appartment building. He waved to her as he waited for the elevator at the end of the hall. Danielle waved back and then went back into her appartment.

She closed the door and leaned her head up against it. She thought she would be thankful for stopping them last night, but she still regretted it. She shook her thoughts away. We're just friends. That's all. Just friends. She told herself, knowing somewhere deep down inside she wanted more.
