~~Prologue~~

  • "fate (n.) 1. a supposed power making everything happen in a predetermined way; destiny 2. one's lot or destiny"
  • Gina opened the doors to her childhood church and stepped inside. It was empty and dark, with the exception of a few candels lite. She could hear her shoes click against the ground as she took a few steps. Memories started to flow through her mind like water in a river. A priest stepped out onto the alter and staired at her. "Can I help you with anything Miss?" Gina looked up at him. "Oh, uh, yes I was wondering if I could recieve confession." The priest smiled. "You sure can." Gina stepped inside the confessional and waited for the priest. A few seconds later the priest entered on his side and slide the screen over.
  • Gina took a deep breath. "Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. It has been..." Gina paused for a moment. "Wow, it's been about 3 years. I don't even know why I came here today. I don't consider myself a very holy person. I mean, I love God and I'm thankful for everything He has given me. But I haven't been to Mass in about a year, I hardly pray. I haven't gone to confession since I graduated from highschool. I only came hear because I thought it would help. I don't know how, I haven't done anything wrong, well besides the fact that I've missed church a whole lot." The priest inturupted her. "Would you like to step out and talk face to face. It seems as though something is on your mind that you wish to talk about." Gina smiled. Maybe talking to a stranger would help. "Okay." She stepped out and sat in a pew. The priest sat down and stuck out his hand. "By the way, I'm Father Pat." Gina shook his hand. "I'm Gina." "So, what's on your mind." The Father asked. Gina sighed. "I know you probably won't believe me. No one really does, but it happened. A man died that wasn't supposed to die. It was supposed to be me, but he died for me." Father Pat was silent. Gina continued. "Let me start from the beginning."
