THE DAMON DEBATE
DAMON ALBARN is teaming up with former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman in an
Oxford University debate about whether or not pop music is the greatest
of all art forms.
In the debate, which takes place at the Oxford Union on November 4,
Albarn will be arguing that pop music is more important than painting,
literature or the theatre. TV presenter Mariella Frostrup and veteran
club DJ Dave Haslam will put the other side of the argument.

Blur: to be sent to Mars in 2003
BLUR have confirmed the b-sides for 'No Distance Left To Run', the third
single released from their platinum selling album '13' released on
November 8.
The CD1 and cassette versions of the single are backed by new track
* 'So You'
* 'Tender' (Cornelius remix)
CD2 features the title track alongside
* 'Battle' (UNKLE remix)
* 'Beagle 2'
'Beagle 2' is the song Blur recorded to be beamed back to earth from the
Mars probe Beagle 2 - after the ship in which Darwin sailed to the
Gallapagos Islands - in 2003.
The video for 'No Distance Left To Run' was shot over four nights in
each of the band members houses, capturing footage of them asleep in
their beds. The video concludes with Damon being awoken from his sleep
and asked what the song is about, to which he replies "It's a warning
and kind of gentle reminder". It is directed by Thomas Vinterberg who
achieved critical acclaim with Dogma 95 film 'Festen' earlier this year.
As previously reported, Blur have already recorded a live version of 'No
Distance Left To Run' for Top Of The Pops.

BLUR: ARE PLAYING
BLUR have announced some UK shows prior to their singles extravaganza at
Wembley.
The shows just announced are
* Belfast Waterfront (December 6)
* Edinburgh Corn Exchange (7)
* Birmingham NEC (9)
* Brighton Centre (10)
* London Wembley Arena (11)
Tickets are on sale now. There may also be some additions that will be
posted when we get them.

Damon's A Dad
The latest member of the long line of pop star Poppa's is Damon Albarn
who has apparently become the father of a beautiful baby girl. His
artist girlfriend Suzi Winstanly delivered the tot almost two weeks
early and Damon himself is said to be 'chuffed to bits'. Damon has named his daughter Missy after Missy "misdemeanor" Elliot.

Next Single
No Distance left to Run will be the next single from 13. It will be
released in November, with Cornelius' Remix of Tender as one of its
B-Sides. A Full tracklisting & more information on release dates,
formats etc will be posted as soon as they areannounced.
