"When it comes to life I have no sense of middle ground. It is either high highs or low lows, but I use that in the music. On stage, it's what makes Chlorine. It's my own shrink. " -Mark Fain

All I have to say is never judge a band by it's single. I know that sounds corney but I'm serious. I never heard of Chlorine until recently(July 31), the show I saw them at was free(sponsored by a local station), and i hated their single. I went to that show just to see another band,Virgos Merlot, actually. I had no intentions towards Chlorine. But my best friend, Skippy, had to tell me a day before the show, "watch us come home being total Chlorine freaks!"
I laughed because I knew it was most likely gonna be true(that happens with us a lot)so I went, and I was there, and I was standing under a tree with my friend Emily..and Mark walked by. We had been watching him ever since we spotted him, not knowing who he was, just cos we thought he was pretty hot, then he came over to us.
"Oh you're the smart ones, you got the shade" that was the first thing he said. Of course I had to say something stupid to make him stay around so we could lust over him up close...
"yeah, wanna share it with us?" I was stunned by how silly that was, but it worked. He stayed and introduced himself as Mark(we forgot that right away..i mean..he was touching out hands!)"oh you must be from Chlorine, right?" I asked."yes" he replied. Then he had to go, and finish what he was doing-eating-eating whatever pasta type caffeteria food he was eating.
So later on we(Emily and I) walked around...and we found another member of Chlorine- Eddie. We spoke to Eddie briefly, found out Mark's name...and we were on our way.
Then Chlorine started setting up for their show. They started out having more energy than the two bands that had gone before them(Simon Says and Aztec Trip). They got the crowd off their lazy asses(including mine) and got us up to the brim of the stage, jumping up and down, and moshing. I soon got tired of the old routine for a band and walked away...i was also dying from the 100+ heat. Then I heard, out of a short silence, "Bawitdaba da bang da bang diggy diggy diggy set the boogey said up jump the boogey.. I DID IT ALL FOR THE NOOKIE!" and everyone just screamed. It was kind of cool actually..being the Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock fan that I am.
All in all they were amazing! Had I just blown them off for their single(which i do like now) I never would've cared to know them. But I DID put their single aside and gave them a chance. And I'm glad I did. They are some of the sweetest guys I've met. Especially Mark, he was so nice to me the whole day.
Chlorine is an amazing band. They are great people who have great music. I do suggest that you go out and be poisoned and infected with Chlorine. If you understand what I mean.
