THIS CROOK LEFT QUITE AN IMPRESSION

Chief Lem DuBose of the Grove Hill, Alabama police department sent in a bit of "Dumb luck" news. Chief DuBose responded to a report of a hit and run incident. The rear of the victim's car was heavily damaged, but she didn't seem at first to be able to offer the chief much to go on. "All she knew is that it was a pick-up truck," he says. "We began looking closely for paint left by the other vehicle, when we saw something I couldn't believe: the suspect's vehicle had left a perfect imprint of its tag number in the back bumper of the victim's car. It was a government tag -- you could even read the words 'U.S. Government' on the bumper. To make matters worse for the suspect, his radiator was leaking from the damage. we were able to follow his trail, zig-zagging through town and out on the highway for about ten miles, where we found him broken down on the road, highly intoxicated. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and D.U.I."
