An Iowa State University student who told a girl that he would "take a bullet for her" was arrested for doing just that. Police say the student talked a friend of his into staging a fake mugging and shooting him with a 45-caliber derringer to impress the girl. The student was shot in the shoulder with a .410-caliber hollow point deer slug, which narrowly missed his lung and left several bullet fragments that had to be surgically removed. the men were charged with assault, reckless use of a firearm, and filing a false police report.
