Envelope Licking

A lady was working in a post office in California. One day she was licking the envelopes and postage stamps instead of using a sponge. Later that day she cut her tongue on one of the envelopes.

A week later, she noticed an abnormal swelling of her tongue. She went to the doctor, and they found nothing wrong. She did not complain of any pain or other symptoms other than the swelling.

A couple of days later, her tongue started to swell more, and then it began to get really sore. Her tongue had become so painful that she could not eat. She went back to the hospital and demanded that something be done. The doctor took an x-ray of her tongue and noticed a lump. The doctor prepared her for minor surgery. When he cut her tongue open a live cockroach crawled out.

It turns out that there were roach eggs on the seal of the envelope which were deposited inside her tongue via the paper cut she received. One of the eggs was able to hatch because the inside her tongue was just the right temperature to incubate the egg and her saliva was warm and moist, providing the perfect atmosphere for a bouncing baby Cockroach!
