Information on my Repainting
I have been repainting for over 2 years, since the repainting workshop at BreyerFest 98. Since then I have repainted quite a few models and I think I am getting pretty good at it! Several of my horses have placed at open live shows against tough competition, and I recently had my first horse NAN-qualified (at Winterzona Live). My specialties are gold-red chestnut (several examples pictured in the gallery), tobiano pintos, and bright golden palomino. I have decided to offer my repainting service to the public. Here are the details of my work:
I will sand all seams and mold marks off your model, and carve the ears, hooves and nostrils. The model will be very carefully prepped to assure it has a perfectly smooth finish. I will then paint the model by brush with quality acrylics paints, with careful attention to realistic shading and detail. After completion, the model will be signed and dated, sprayed with a clear matte to semi-gloss finish spray, and the eyes, nostrils and hooves will be glossed. The completed model will most likely be open live show quality - as time goes on, my horses are only getting better and better. (Of course, I can't guarantee any wins.) I much prefer to paint Stablemate and Little Bit sized models, as they are much less time consuming and less tedious to prep, however, I may paint a pre-prepped traditional, or if you make a special request, I will prep a traditional sized model. I finally have a gallery up, you can view the link from the main page.
I will paint plastics and resins, and chinas such as H-R's if the glossy finish has been well sanded before sending to me so the primer sticks properly. However, I will only paint Stablemate scale resins at this time. The customer is to supply the body, or I can find and supply one at my cost. Customer pays shipping of $4.60 (priority mail with insurance) for SMs, LBs, and Classics, and $6 for Traditionals. Turnaround time varies, but is usually around 4 weeks. If you have any questions, please email me.
