KILLERCANARY'S NEW SETUP!!!

My new combo will consist of:

In April of 2005 I had a mishap at the track when I went from 3rd gear at around 80mph to 2nd gear. It resulting in the bending of all my exhaust valves. Since then I have been building my dream motor. Its going to take a few years to totally evolve into the finished monster I want, but it should perform quite well in every stage until then. For the 2007 season the car will NA and with sport my old stock shortblock 302 cam, 65mm throttle body, 75mm MAF, 24lb injectors (they will be MAXED out, I'm sure of that!), 190lph fuel pump, and my same exhaust system which consisted of FMS shorty headers, Bassani offroad X pipe, 2.5" flow tubes, and dynomax welded race magnum mufflers. I will be adding 2.5" tail pipes.

In addition I have already purchased a Holley systemax II intake. The heads for now will be my old AFR 165's with upgraded lightweight valve springs and retainers. These will be replaced in Spring 2008 with something bigger and better as I get ready for the next phase of my buildup.

Keep stopping back as I will update this as new parts are bought and the ball gets rolling on this. The car WILL be back on the road by spring 2007!

UPDATE 10-9-07: Well the cat is out of the bag. I built a 8.8:1 compression 331 stroker. I'm running it NA for the time being until I save up enough money for the fuel system. I recently added an MSD6AL ignition, MSD coil, and an AEM stand alone with a 3.5 bar AEM Map sensor. In doing so I ditched the MAF sensor. I've been to the track twice so far with it and the results have shocked me. My previous best at my home track of PRP was a 12.4 at 109mph with the old combo. PRP is a minimum of 2 tenths and 2mph slower than Cecil where I ran my 12.0 at 112mph with my old 302 setup. In full street trim on my daily driven nittos at 3620lbs in 2550' DA air the car ran a 12.8 at 114mph. In race form it ran a 12.2 at 115.65mph with a DA of 1200'. I'm hoping that if and when I get to run at Cecil again it'll trap 117mph or better. I also had a chance to make a few power pulls on a dynojet. I was expecting aroun 330rwhp based on the compression and all of the old 302 parts that I had on the car. Well I was shocked when the numbers came in at 355RWHP/365RWTQ. Here's a few of my dyno graphs:

UPDATE 4-1-08: There are a lot of changes coming for 2008. I will soon have a set of AFR's yet to be released AFR185 comptition head outfitted with their 8019 springs (155lbs on the seat/410+ open), titanium retainers, and thier new LS1 style valvetrain setup. I'm also switiching to a fox style 75mm Accufab race TB and 60lb injectors. I'm also planning on adding a 6pt chrome-moly roll bar, new seats, Saleen side skirts and rear bumper cover, and hopefully getting my hardtop painted. I will not be putting the turbo kit on this year, but it should be on the car by 2009. The car is getting closer to its full transformation!

Special thanks go out to the following people/companies for all their help and support they've given me in the buildup of the shortblock!
