Chapter 2

That night Ronnie slept over.

"So, how'd ya do with Zac?"

"Struck out."

"Did you ask about the snake?"

"Yea. But, I am going to his house tomorrow."

"How do you figure that as striking out?"

"I'm the babysitter."

"Oh. At least you'll get to see his room."

"I'd perfer he was in it, but it's a start."

"I could have Marc ask Zac if he likes you."

"Okay, but don't let him tell Zac that I like him."

"Okay."

After that we fell asleep.

The next morning when we woke up it was already 12:00, so I walked Ronnie home and then walked to the Hanson's house. When I got there, an older version of Zac answered the door.

"Hi, I'm Zellary."

"Oh. The babysitter. I'm Taylor, Zac's brother. Come in. Zac, Zel's here! Zac's told me a lot about you."

"Only good things I hope." He laughed at that even though it wasn't that funny. For some reason Taylor seemed uptight. At that moment Zac came down the stairs.

"Hi, Zel."

"Hi, Zac."

"Do you want me to show you around the house?"

"Okay."

Zac and I started walking around the house. After awhile we got to his room. When we walked in, an even older version of Zac was sitting on the bed.

"This is Ike," said Zac.

"Hey, Zel," said Ike.

"Hi," I said.

"Tay, Ike, and I all share this room. Ike sleeps on the top bunk, Tay gets the bottom, and I sleep on the trundle bed," said Za.

"Cool," I said.

"Well, nice meeting you, Zel," said Ike.

"You too," I said.

Next Zac took me to Jessie and Avery's room.

"Jessie, Avery, this is Zellary. She's going to be your babysitter," saifd Zac.

"Hi, girls," I said.

"Will you help me do Barbie's hair later?" said Avery.

"Sure," I said.

After that Zac showed Mackenzie's room and where Zoe's crib was. Then we went downstairs to meet Zac's parents.

"Mom, Dad, this is Zellary, the girl I met at Marc's party," said Zac.

"Hi, I'm Zac's mom. You can call me Diana or Mrs. Hanson, whatever you like."

"I'm Walker," said Zac's dad.

"Well, I think us and the boys are about ready to leave. We should be back around 6:00. Jessie and Avery are in their room, Zoe's sleeping, and Mackie is at a friend's house. His friend's parents are going to drive him home around 4:00. You can feed the kids dinner around 5:00, and Zoe gets a bottle at 3:00. I think that's all," said Mrs. Hanson.

"Okay," I said.

"Taylor, Isaac, we're ready to leave!" yelled Zac. "Hey, bye, Zel."

"Bye, Zac."

"Mom, where's my shoes?" said Taylor entering. "Oh, hey, Zel."

"Hey, Taylor."

"You think you can handle the little brats?"

"I think so. They don't seem like brats."

"You haven't gotten to know them. Well, see ya later, Zel."

"Bye, Tay."

"Bye, Zel," said Ike.

"See ya later, Ike," I said.

Then they left. There was about a moment of silence before Jessie came running down the stairs.

"So, you're the girl Zac met at the party," she said.

"That's right."

"Zac's said a lot about you."

"That's what Taylor told me."

"Haven't you wondered why?"

"No. Not really."

"He has the hots for you, Zel."
