Chapter 21

The next morning, everyone woke up with love in their hearts. Erica and Chris had had a beautiful reunion the night before, and they were now both happy as buttons. Wrica had introduces all of us to Bob, and once we talked to him, we realized that he was a really nice guy and invited him to stay the night in a room instead of a closet.

But the happiest of everyone were Justin and Alyse. After all, it was their wedding day. The ceremony was to take place at noon. Erica and Chris had been in Justin and Alyse's rooms since ten helping them get ready. Nadine, Yasmine, Nicki, JC, Joey, Josh, Lance and I were in my room waiting and doing last minute things for the wedding.

"How the heck do you put one of these things on?" asked JC.

"Well, JC," started Lance, "that's a tie, and you put it on like this." Lance demonstrated how to tie it.

"Or you can be like Derek and have your dad tie it and put it in your suit case and then just put it over your head and tighten it," I said and Nadine and Yasmine laughed while everyone else gave me a funny look. "You had to be there."

"Oh."

"Oh my gosh! I have a run in my stocking!" said Yasmine.

"Do you want me to put clear nail polish on it?" asked Joey.

"Okay."

"Where's the run?"

"There," said Yasmine and pointed to her upper thigh.

Joey painted polish on the run, and Yasmine didn't even look the slightest bit disgusted. She almost looked like she was enjoying it.

"Um, Yasmine, is there something we should know?" I asked.

"Well," Yasmine said and she and Joey exchanged a look, "yea. Me and Joey are going out."

"Isn't this a change of heart?"

"Spending twenty four hours a day with a person in a room can change your opinion about them," said Yasmine.

"Oh. Well, what about Nick?"

"I still love Nick. But he can wait."

There was a knock on the door.

"Come in!" I said.

Erica entered the room. "It's time."

We all stood up and walked down to the chapel. Allison was standing at the alter. All the guests and employees were sitting in the pews. JC took his place behind the organ (he was playing the music for the ceremony), and the wedding began. Justin and Chris were standing at the alter. First, Lance and I walked down the aisle, then Josh and Nadine, then Joey and Yasmine. Then the music changed to "Here Comes The Bride", and Alyse started walking down the aisle with Erica holding her train. When they got to the alter, the music stopped.

"Dearly beloved," started Allison, "we are gathered here today to join these two people in holy matrimony. Does anyone here today object to these two people being married?"

No one said anything.

"Okay then. Justin, do you take Alyse to be your lawfully wedded wife through sickness and health, for richer and poorer, for better or worse, til death do you part?"

"I do."

"Alyse, do you take Justin to be your lawfully wedded husband through sickness and health, for richer and poorer, for better or worse, til death do you part?"

"I do."

"I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride," said Allie, and Justin and Alyse embraced in a pationate kiss.

After the ceremony was over, Justin and Alyse walked down the aisle, and everyone threw rice, but it didn't stay on the ground for very long because Sarah's ducks promptly ate it.

There was a reception in the ballroom with the same DJ that was here for the masquerade. Everyone was dancing and having cake. Lance and I dances to a few slow songs, but he refused to dance to any fast ones.

"C'mon, Lance, I wanna dance!" I pouted.

"Nat, I don't do fast songe," he said. He reached down to the food table which we were standing by and grabbed a cookie.

Just then, Justin and Alyse came over and joined us.

"Hey, guys!" I said.

"Hey," said Justin. "Did you know that Alyse doesn't fast dance? I can't believe I married her."

"I wish someone would have told me that Lance doesn't fast dance too," I said.

Then I think the idea hot us both at the same time.

"Do you wanna dance?" he asked.

"Just as friends."

"Okay. It's okay with you two?" Justin asked Lance and Alyse.

"Go ahed," said Alyse, and Lance nodded.

"Okay. Lat's go," I said. Justin and I walked out to the dance floor and started dancing. "Never There" by Cake was on.

Nadine and Josh must have seen that Justin and I were dancing together because they came over to us. Nadine said, "And I thought the Dennis Rodman/Carmen Electra marriage was the shortest in history. Congrats, Justin, you now have a non-musical record."

"We're just friends, Nadine," I said.

"Oh sure!" she said laughing, and they walked away.

All around I saw everyone dancing, well, except for Lance and Alyse who were by the food table talking and Joey and Yasmine who were who knows where. Then I saw them at the DJ booth. Yasmine was trying to get him to play BSB, and Joey was rolling his eyes.

"Okay, everyone," started the DJ, " I want all the single women to gather around. Alyse is gonna throw the flowers." We all stood in a group, and the DJ started a count down.

"Five, four, three, two, one, go!" he said, and Alyse threw the bouquet over her head. Everyone reached for them, but five years of pee-wee softball at that moment paid off for me because I somehow jumped and caught them. I ran over to Lance excitedly.

"Lance will you..."

"I don't think so, Nat."

"Oh. Here, Erica, merry Christmas," I said and threw her the bouquet.

"Happy holidays!" she said and her and Chris started kissing.

"I just love happy endings!"
