Chapter 10

"Let's have a party."~5ive, "Partyline 555~On~Line", or Backstreet Boys, "Let's Have a Party", but let's go with 5ive cuz they're better.

"Ike, what should I wear to the party?" asked Taylor. The guys were back at the dorm getting dressed.

"I dunno, Tay. The same thing you always wear I guess. Tight shirt and tight pants," said Isaac.

"Funny, Ike. But which tight shirt and which tight pants?"

"It doesn't matter, Tay."

The guys finished getting ready and walked to the Alpha Beta Gamma house. They could hear the music from a block away.

"This is gonna be great!" said Zac.

"Zac, you watch yourself. Don't do anything stupid," said Isaac.

"Relax, Ike."

They walked into the house, and immediately Justin was asked to dance by a girl named Nicki. Taylor went to the other side of the room and started talking to another girl. Zac and Ike got cups of punch and stood by the refreshment table.

"Hey, Ike, look at that girl," said Zac.

"She's pretty. Zac, you're not gonna aske her to dance, are you?"

"Why not?"

"Because she's too old for you."

"Ike, let me let you in on a little secret. All the girls here are too old for me! That's the beauty of this! What did you think I was gonna do all night? Hang out with you and console you when no girl will dance with you?"

"Very funny, Zac. Fine, you can ask her to dance."

"Thanks, Ike," Zac said and walked over to the girl.

"Hi, I'm Zac. Wanna dance?" he asked.

"Sure. Aren't you kinda young to be here though?" she said.

"I'm here with my brother, baby. It's all good," said Zac. Isaac could hear this conversation and laughed at his little brother's attempt to be cool. Then he realized that he was now standing alone by the food table, and that was definately not cool. Before he could find a girl to dance with, an older guy in a football jacket came up to him.

"Hey, buddy, you pledging?" he asked.

"Yea, I'm Ike," said Isaac and held out his hand for the guy to shake.

"I'm Dustin," said the guy, not realizing that Isaac was offering his hand. "Here, drink some of this."

Isaac took the cup that Dustin handed him. It was obviously some kind of alcohol. Isaac didn't want to get drunk with his brothers aroud, so he just thanked Dustin and walked away. He set the drink down on the nearest coffee table for the next unsuspecting fool to pick up. Then he sat down on the couch.

"Hey, I'm Jacinda," said the girl sitting next to him.

"Isaac," said Isaac. Jacinda had long wavy brown hair and blue eyes. "Where are you from?"

"New York," she said. Isaac realized that she had a New York accent. "And you?" she asked.

"Tulsa."

"Hey, aren't you one of those Hansons?" she asked.

"Yeah."

"My little sister has pictures of you guys all over her room. What are you doing in a place like this?"

"I'm pledging. My brothers are here too. They're just visiting me, and Zac begged me to come so he could, 'meet chicks.'"

Just then Zac danced by with the girl he had been dancing with earlier.

"Looks like he succeded. What about Taylor?" asked Jacinda.

"Oh, he has a girlfriend. But he's making his rounds."

"And you?"

"What about me?"

"Do you have a girlfriend?"

"No. I mean yes. I mean...," Isaac said and realized that he was stuttering. He wondered why he was stuttering, and then he realized it was because he had a small drush on Jacinda. "Ike, stop it. You have a girlfriend," he thought to himself, but he still had feelings for Jacinda.

As if reading his thoughts, Jacinda leaned over and started kissing him. To Isaac's surprise, he didn't push her away, but actually returned the kiss and found himself enjoying it. After a minute or two, Jacinda pulled away.

"So, what's your girlfriend's name?" she asked.

"First of all, how do you know that I have a girlfriend? Second of all, if you knew I had a girlfriend why did you just kiss me?"

"I knew you had a girlfriend by the way you stuttered when I asked you."

"And why did you kiss me?"

"I was testing you."

"Excuse me?"

"I was seeing if you'd betray your girlfriend and give into a gome on by a girl you liked."

"Wait a minute, I don't like you," he denied.

"Yes you do."

"How do you figure that?"

"The way you stuttered and the fact that you returned my kiss."

"What are you, a mind reader or something?"

"No, I'm just really good at things like this."

"Too good."

"I just got you to admit it too."

"So you did," said Isaac. "Where do you get all this confidence?"

"I knew from the moment you sat down that you'd fall for me."

"You're one of those chicks who thinks she can have any guy she wants, aren't you?"

"Well, yeah. But it's not that I think I'm anything special. I just think that the average male is incredibly easy."

"Too much Real World sweetie."

Jacinda giggled. "So I got the quote from Kaia. She's right."

"If you say so."

Justin and some girl danced by. Justin waved at Isaac, and Isaac waved back.

"What is this, the Kids Choice Awards pre~party?" asked Jacinda.

"Nah, too much alcohol."

"Speaking of alcohol," Jacinda said and pointed to a drunk looking Zac crowd surfing towards them."
