Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated was founded on November 12, 1922 at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. The sorority was founded with the idealism that greater service resulted in greater progress. Hence, the birth of a sisterhood, dedicated to its African American brothers and sisters to help provide the means so that the sorority continues to promote cultural awareness, educational and health programs, and recreational activities.
