The paper of my life lies in a heap
On this dirty Autumn floor
Blown away wreckless
The canvas stretches wide across my face
Elaborate shades of purple and blue
Seem to merge together
As if I've never known the truth of them
Tears of crimson splatter like
Raindrops across the page
Creating a lie they want me to live
Promisies and Pictures write themselves
Carelessly across my painting
Only to be broken again
By the beating of my heart
Solemn voices cast shades of black
Into the lovliness of nothing
The painting looks older - ragged
The paper is crumbled - torn
Loves known and past come
To haunt the corners, creating a dull shade of green
I've come to watch the painting gather
Watch the colors paint themselves across my life
I can not stop them from coming
Cannot control their shade or destination
Silver splatters heavily across the canvas
It runs slowly down to my fingers.
What I just can not ignore..
The silence of it all
As if I was never meant to know
That this was how it'd be
Uncontrolled, destiny unknown
Was i never meant to know?
That I could watch it all alone - so divided
I feel enlightened, but expect that noone will remember
I feel determined, but with no cause to change
I feel let down
And with that, I retreat to sleep.
