Try this no-cholesterol apple crisp recipe for the Passover / Pesach festival. Many apple crisp recipes that are created do not watch the amount of cholesterol contained in the ingredients, but the following apple crisp recipe is a healthy version which makes an excellent dessert for the Passover / Pesach Seder.

No-Cholesterol Apple Crisp Recipe

Filling:

5 to 6 tart apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Juice of half a lemon

Topping:

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup matzoh meal
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup vegetable oil

Instructions for the No-Cholesterol Apple Crisp recipe:

  1. Lightly grease a 9 x 12-inch (22.86-centimeter-by-30.48-centimeter) glass baking pan.
  2. Combine the filling ingredients and pour into the prepared pan.
  3. Combine all the topping ingredients.
  4. Mix until the mixture looks like coarse cornmeal.
  5. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the filling.
  6. Bake at 350-degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius or Centigrade) for about 30 minutes or until the juice start to bubble up through the topping (Bake it longer if you like softer apples.).
  7. Can be frozen before baking.
  8. Just bake longer and cover loosely with foil if top gets too brown.

Makes 8 servings.
