The original .png file (400 px by 350 px) was 47 kb. Compress (export) the image. The final .gif file posted here is 5 kb. The color table file (.act) is 1 kb. This project introduces students to the use of layers and various tools from the toolbox. It requires extensive use of the Info panel.
Create a color table file based on the graphic of the textbook's cover that is posted on this page. Save the color table.
The canvas size is 400 x 350 and colored white.
You should create the following objects in the graphics:
- Rounded Rectangle - Size: 180 x 90; Location: 200, 50; color: black; radius: 50
- Rectangle - Size: 180 x 70; Location: 200, 230; color: "blue" that identically matches the textbook's graphic
- Circle - Size: 150 x 150; Location: 20, 180; color: "red" that identically matches the textbook's graphic
- Sine Wave (S) - Size: 140 x 90; Location: 25, 215; color: "orange" that identically matches the textbook's graphic
- 6-Pointed Star - Size: 120 x 140; Location: 40, 20; color: "orange" that identically matches the textbook's graphic
- Ellipse - Size: 140 x 300; Location: 220, 20; color: "orange" that identically matches the textbook's graphic; Layer Transparency: 50; On Top Layer
- Initials - Use your own; Face: Arial; Size: 50; Location: 225, 160; Crisp Anti-alias; color: "red" that identically matches the textbook's graphic; Kerning: 20%
In addition, group your initials with just the ellipse and group the sine wave (S) with the circle.
Save the graphic that you create in its native format (.png) with filename fw1.png
Save the file a second time as a GIF file, Web Snap 128, Web Snap Adaptive, 8 colors with filename fw1.gif
Turn in the 3 files - .png, gif, .act on a floppy disk on Wednesday, October 3, 2001, at 1:00 PM.
