Instructions / Requirements for Flash Bomb Mission Movie
- Recommended stage size: 700 x 400. Speed: 12 fps.
- Provide five (5) scenes:
- Title Page Scene
- The button should be used to display a smaller version of the plane (via a 2nd Flash movie) that is flying in a loop. You should be able to click on the smaller plane to make it disappear.
- Two banners should drop - "Bombing Mission" and "Copyright YourName 2001".
- A fade-out should occur and an invisible full-screen button should be available at the end of the scene.
- Fly Left to Right over Peirce Rocks Scene
- A fade-in should occur at the beginning and a fade-out should occur at the end.
- The plane drops two missiles each hitting a designated strike zone.
- "Peirce Rocks" appears.
- Fly Right to Left over Peirce Rocks Scene
- A fade-in should occur at the beginning and a fade-out should occur at the end.
- On this return flight, the plane drops two more missiles each hitting thee same designated strike zones.
- "Peirce Rocks" appears.
- Fly Left to Right over Lake or Pond Scene
- A fade-in should occur at the beginning and a fade-out should occur at the end.
- On this final flight, the plane drops three more missiles each hitting thee same designated strike zones.
- When the lake/pond is hit a ripple with a sound effect should occur automatically. Refer to Flash 4's sample file for creating a ripple. Hint: Examine its library items closely and modify as necessary.
- A mushroom cloud and accompanying explosion sound is needed near the end of the scene.
- "Peirce Rocks" appears.
- End Scene
- Provide a fade-in.
- Provide text for "Pilot: 'Oh my goodness, I thought all of these test bombs were duds! Yikes, we're violating the nuclear test ban treaty!' The End, ... Hopefully Not for the World".
- Provide two (2) buttons:
- Create an "invisible" button.
- Use Flash 4's "Push Button Red" for the Title Page.
- Place both buttons in a folder called "Buttons" in your movie's library
- Create animated symbols and/or movies for:
- Smoke Clouds
- Fade-ins and fade-outs
- Place all of your animated symbols in a folder called "Animated Items" in your movie's library
- Download sound files for the plane's sound, the dropping missile sound, and the explosion's sound. Links are provided for you on the movie page. Choose appropriate Effects and Synch. for each sound.
- You are expected to "trim" the Prop01SF.wav file down to 14 seconds, and use this "trimmed" file for the project.
- Store all sounds in a "Sounds" folder.
- Use objects (ripple, plane, and banner) from Flash 4's library and the Sample Lessons that are on Peirce's hard drives.
- Center your movie on a Web page
- Use good design practices
- Store all files related to this project in a folder named "Proj6".
- Do NOT distribute your files to others. If another student's work resembles your work too much in the opinion of the instructor, then you and that other individual will both be awarded a zero. Each individual is expected to do his/her own work.
- The entire project should be able to fit on one (1) floppy disk. The instructor's floppy disk contains all three (3) original sound files plus the project's main .fla, .swf, and .html file as well as the secondary .fla, .swf, and .html file. The instructor's floppy disk also contains this file as well as a Size Report and a "Sound Choice" form. Another .html file was also stored on the disk. 28.5 KB are still available. (Your disk need not contain the sounds in separate files. The sounds need only be contained in your Flash file; thus you should have ample disk space to complete this project.)
- Be sure to use symbols as often as possible to minimize file sizes. This is a good design principle.
- If for some reason you cannot store all work on a floppy, then you should trim the Prop01SF.wav file down to a smaller size (2 or 7 seconds) and loop the sound.
- Tip: Save the more challenging details (such as the ripple annd perhaps the title pages's miniplane that's created in a separate file) for last.
- Due Tuesday, April 24th
- Late assignments will have a late penalty deducted.
- Lastly, have fun!
Sound is required on this last project.
